Whats up guys, I just got finished installing my Turbonetics Kit on my 2005 Z. I have a few problems here that are totally messing with my head.
Problem 1: Installed a SSV with the SSV Cover to make it look pretty under the hood. Problem is when I first start the car I head the most annoying screeching sound, then it goes away but I still hear a loud suction. The car does not sputter or stall in any way, stays idle. I removed the cork casket and am using a OE metal gasket. Torqued it down perfectly but still weird not normal noise with it, any advice on this one? Should I use Liquid Grey Gasket instead at the plenum and throttlr body?
Problem 2: The BIGGEST problem of all! Turbo is watercooled, all hooked up perfectly. Turbo is spinning and seems operational. Problem is the cross pipe under the car that goes from the passenger header to the y pipe (to the turbo) is smoking white smoke causing a bad boost leak. Putting the boost guage on the SSV, I rev the engine to see NO boost above zero, its like I am just running on vacuum. I loosened the bolts and retightened them to no aval. I don't know what is going on, everything was done and tripple checked. Also, I have ZERO BOV sound when reving, probably because there is no boost! HELP!
Edit: Forgot to mention, I am running RC440cc Injectors, AEM Oil Pan Spacer (not that it maters), AAM fuel return system with walbro 255 , TurboXS Utec (untuned cannot connect with my laptop for some reason, using Belkin Serial to USB but cannot connect).
Thanks for the advice guys any any tips you have to throw my way! My first install of a TN Kit turning into a nightmare. I want my car running so bad!

Problem two seems pretty obvious, your crossover pipe is leaking causing the boost leak - thats why you have no boost. What exactly is the question? Fix the leak.
Problem one - why did you remove the cork gasket? Mine (on my kinetix V+) has seen as much as 12psi without issue so far. Sounds like a vacuum leak, but its hard to diagnose based on what you've told us, as unmetered air should make the car idle funny.
Also, untuned UTEC? Does that mean you have NO maps on it at all? No base map? is it set to map 0?

I didn't mention but I already took off the cross pipe and put it back on, made sure it was as tight as it can be without over muscling it. No fix, I can't exactly see but its white smoke being emitted. It smells like antifreeze (could be from the water cool lines for the turbo or the straight run from the old plenum lines) burning but that wouldn't stop the boost right? I will check all coolant lines tomorrow.
Thats what the Kinetix guy asked me, why did I remove the gasket, as a tip from my mechanic, who was obviously wrong, was to use the OE gasket as its metal and a higher quality gasket then cork. So instead, I called Kinetix today and the Tech Rob told me to put Copper RTV High Temp Sealant on the bottom of the SSV and a thin layer around the 6 ports, seal and torque to 100 inch lbs. That I will also try tomorrow. After a few hours to dry, I will start her up again.
Ok the problem with the Utec is I am using a Belkin Serial to USB adapter to connect to the Utec to load a base map. On the first start I had no map because I couldn't connect to the Utec using the Belkin. I will be calling TurboXS support tomorrow to help me get connected so well see on that.

+1, yep you are not going to build any boost in neutral. You gotta drive it - which given your tuning situation is a bad idea right now.
Is this a new kit or used? The cross-over pipe has a small section of flex pipe in it that has been known to break over time or abuse. Perhaps that section is leaking and preventing you from making any boost. Just a thought. Check it out.
But even if it did leak, it would have to be a huge hole to not make any boost at all. I think that has to do with your tune or lack there-of. And yes, you won't hear a whoosh from the BOV without the car being under load. In other words, you have to move the car to get the blow off whoosh.

I will be contacting TurboXS to see whats the problem with my connection via the Belkin cable so I can atleast load the basic tune for the TN Kit.
rrmedicx: The kit is used and I will check the pipe ASAP. I will take it down today and unwrap it and inspect it for any cracks. Prior to install it was perfect, everything was used slightly and never beat on.
Also, I thought that doing a revup would cause boost but I guess I was mistaken, first time using a Turbo so I am pretty new at this.
I contacted Kinetix Racing who told me to use RTV Copper Sealant on the Plenum then wait 3 hours. He said there should be ZERO leaks so I will try that this afternoon and post back my results.

Alright i have this kit also.
1st. you wont see boost in nuetral. Gotta be under load. However if you take it past 6500, you will hear the bov but dont try it on a stock block
2nd. If the manifold sounds like a sucking sound, you probably have a vacuum leak. if you have a boost gauge, see how many inches you are vacuuming. Should be around 22-25 at idle. One getto test you can do here is if you smoke cigarrets, take a puff, blow it around the manifold. you should be able to see a leak that way.

Good point. the newer kits with the relocated wastegate don't have that flex pipe anymore it was merged with the pipe that connected to it, so depending how old your kit is you may or may not have one, just in case your under your car going "WTF is he talking about" haha

no, were talking about the same thing, I just metioned the kits with wastegate relocation cause that is the kit that i have so i know first hand that the flex pieces have been eliminated. the crossover pipe no longer has a flex piece in it as well as the wastegates not having a flex pipe. however, the directions that i was given (I installed my kit in late may) still had the pictures of both of the old pipes, and no pictures of the new version of the pipes which made installation a little more confusing than what it had to be. my earlier post was kinda confusing, sorry about that.

Yes I still have the flex in the pipes, I inspected them and they seem fine. I took off the Kinetix SSV yesterday and used High Heat RTV Sealant on the Plenum, Throttle Body and the MAF connection (I seen other threads people have leaks there so just for precaution I put some there). I waited over night and will be going to start up the car tonight to see how it goes.
As far as the white smoke goes, I still believe that I am burning antifreeze somewhere, someone told me it could be a head gasket but I don't see the possibility of this since the car was running absolutely perfect before I put the Turbo on. Doesn't make sense.
Things I am going to check for Antifreeze leak (white smoke smells sweet so to me thats Antifreeze):
A) Runners
B) Coolant line going to the back of the throttle body
C) Coolant return pipe that goes over the manifold on the passanger side

Let me find pics of the old pipe and new pipes to help clear some confusion. The SSV has had issues before on other cars. A buddy of mine had it on his G and it always leaked we finally found out the manifold was NOT FLAT so we had to machine it so it made a solid flat connection.

Yes I was told the same thing about the SSV not being Trued due to the welding might have caused some to warp and not be flat. I used the RTV Sealant as the Kinetix Tech advised me. I let it sit over night so I will be starting it today.
Also, one problem I see right now is I have the old setup on the right picture, but the U pipe (21427) you are showing I do not have, interesting. I am going to have to take some pictures and post them because now I am really confused.

The new setup eliminates both pipes in the old setup. If you don't have the 21427 well then you better contact who sold you that kit as that is part of the kit.
Vin post pics so we can better see what issues you are having.
