** Update on my Car - Pics, Numbers, Videos **
Like you said, you cant be surprise. YOu had power #'s that were more than 20% higher than 95% of all comparable Greddy 18g builds.
You traded life expectancy for more grins. Let hope that the motor isnt trashed and will only involve an easy rebuild.
Otherwise, get out of imports. Modding a LS motor to levels that far exceed the VQ is way cheaper and much more established.
But, going to a new platform wont be much different Maybe new car, but the path you follow will most likely be the same in terms of ever more mods.

Id take that if my first motor lasted 30K miles and this one 20K sure....
525whp lasted 9000 miles
605whp lasted 4800 miles
For a motor that one day was considered the top setup, and advertised to handle 1000whp, 605whp or even 700whp is a joke. Both builds = failures IMO

Damn sorry to hear this Alberto. I, like many members here loved your videos and kept checking our youtube subscriptions for new videos (I know I did). Hope your troubles get sorted out somehow
P.S. post any clips you still have and we haven't seen

Sorry to hear Alberto. I have followed your builds since I got on this site back in 07' I remember that last time you had issues back in May of 08 and I can remember reading about them while I was staying at my Hotel the night before going to Forged to have my car tuned in Atlanta. With the $$$ spent on your builds it really is no joke but at the same time I know how much you crave that powa. My plan is to enjoy my stock block and when that goes boom to just return my car to stock and move into an 05' or newer Vette. Seems like there really is no replacement for displacement. We are all trying to push power levels that are double or more than the engine was designed to make in stock form. There are just too many weak links and too much expense when any one of them fails. I really hate to hear about this though as you not being here would be a big loss to this community. I also really enjoy this site and it's the first one I check when I get up and the last one I check at night. To not have my Z anymore and not be a part of my350z.com would suck but that day will come for all of us when we will all move on into new platforms. Good luck in whatever decision you make Alberto and thanks for inspiring a lot of us to go FI with our Z's.

Sorry to hear Alberto! I say get a good DD then get a C5Z06...I just sold mine and it was a beast of a car, plus prices have dropped so much that you can get a stock one for under 20k or a built motor/boosted one making 600+rwhp for under 30k. I had a cam and exhaust on mine, made 440rwhp, weighted 3100 pounds, drove it everyday and ran 11s at 120+ on stock tires.
Honestly/imho, I say get rid of the car, the 350z was/will never be able to handle big power numbers, even with a built motor (this is MY opinion so I dont really care if someone disagrees). Ive been around long enough to remember when you were na, then s/t, then now and its hard seeing these threads. GL with everything!

We may have our differences in opinion, but this is terrible to hear.
Best of luck to you.
If you ask me, part the b1tch out and do all labor by yourself. Use that as your down payment on a 07 c6 vet with bolt ons and finance the rest... use Penfed for used car loans. Rates from 4.0-6.0 %.
Based on the above scenerio you loose 10% of your inital investment and still walk away with a 10 second car.

I can understand now FINALLY why soooo many members - Luie comes to mind the most - can own a beast setup and get so fed up with it they lose stupid amounts of $$$ and walk away. Everytime I see his 12.3 @ 116mph sig for his new M3 I used to think " 11.1 @ 133mph owns it, his Z owns that M3 with bolt-ons"
Now I am envious he rides in a car that handles awesome, looks good, stops well and is QUICK. Much more driver enjoyment at the cost of brutal acceleration. And he never has to worry about the tranny, engine if his car starts, etc....only problem with this is whats the point of owning a car that wont excite me like my Z?
Bert Part that mother phucker out and take the losses or just trade it in.
Sorry to hear about this.
Could you please tell me who sleeved the block? My sleeved block may be NFG I have the same symptoms as you have the over flowing resevior ect ect so i have been looking at getting a new block to rebuild myself and I would like to know who sleeved yours so i can avoid them, PM me if you like your help would be appreciated. Looks like non-sleeved might be better

Any time you have a car that is a play toy, things are going to break, you fix them, and they break again.
Many moons ago when I lived in the mountains and had a Jeep. I collapsed the entire front suspension when it was 3 months old. I put on a Trailmaster suspension, and bent those leaf springs 3 times in just as many years, not to mention the number of shocks I went through. On my Honda, I went through two motors in 2 years. On my G, I'm now going on the second built motor.
You push anything hard, day in and day out, and something is going to break... Sure, Alberto can go buy a Vette, but he will probably get the itch, build the **** out of it, and he will be in the same boat (although probably somewhere north of 1000 whp
). You have to pay to play. Otherwise, like Alberto said, you will be babying the car, and then where's the fun???
All that being said, I am trying to do everything I can to get the new motor as solid as possible so that it will hopefully last to 20k miles or so. Maybe I won't shoot for 750 whp, but 650 whp is still a heck of a lot of fun...
