Default SS box running lean after tuned

Hello,

Just got my 03 350z with Votech SC Full kit dyno. It was running too rich. It was under 10. So the tuner download the R4 software and start to tuned it. But no matter how he tuned it. It will run very lean after 5000rpm. It went up to 14-15. So anyone knows what happen? He said the injectors are max out. But it was running rich before he tuned it.

Thanks for any help.

Yes. I have FMU. I'll check the leak first. But it was happen right away after the tuner changed the SS box setting. At the end the tuner changed the SS setting back to stock setting. But its still running lean after 5000rpm.

Thanks

Double check the vacuum lines again. my car had the same prob. it was leaning out bad 14 and kept rising to bout 18. I took off the lines and redid it. put some silicone around the outer fitting and and tie strap over the hoses and now everything is all goood

Sounds like this may have been the first time that he used the SS software since he had to download it. There are a few gotchas with setting up the software. What were the settings on the "Output Settings" screen?

This happens all the time when people dont know that when you up load the tune off the ss box the settings for the Aux. fuel pump change . This doesnt allow the pump to come on when rpm and boost rises . Call SplitSecond and they can walk you through it . Or find some one that has a map on thier laptop that can look and tell you what they are . I dont have it any more to tell you what they are .

Also....we have seen the aux fuel pump wire actually fail inside the SS box.

Ok. Problem fixed. You are right. The SS box changed the output setting after we upload a new fuel map. Thanks for the help.

Anyone has a stock output setting (which come with the vortech Supercharge kit)? I only set the fuel pump turn on when boost over 1psi. And its still running lean (around 13) after 5000rpm. I don't know what else i should set it.

Thanks
