I know a bunch of people have this blower already but I hadnt seen any pics, so here are some. On the vortech website, it seems they are phasing out the V-2 blowers for the G/Z application.
The impeller/volute side is the same. On the Gear side, all you have is a drain line. There is a vented screw on the top of the blower. The dipstick is on the side.
Vortech says thats its the exact same internals as the V-2 Blowers. This is not an upgrade, like an Si impeller, but rather you'd have to get the exchange price if for some reason you wanted to switch. I probably should have got it polished

yup 4oz of paxton sl blower oil. In fact they look exactly like a Paxton blower now

change at 2500, then at 7500 mile increments.
makes me glad i never tapped my block.

think around 600$ but i havent got the invoice. Thats why its not much of an upgrade if your V-2 is working fine. I had mine in the shop for bearing refresh and felt it was easier to swap to a V3 than mess with those oil lines again.
Trending Topics
I've read somewhere that since the blower has its own self contained oil, it will run cooler since it doesn't get oil from the engine
Is this true?
And even if it is, will it really improve blower performance?

Congrats on your V-3. There's some misinformation on this thread, the V-2 will not be phased out for the Z/G. You have your choice of the V-3 or V-2 at the same cost when purchasing a system. It comes down to personal preference. Some people like the idea of not having to do seperate oil changes with the V-2. Some people dont want to tap a hole in the pan, or run the oil lines. You really can't go wrong with either one.
If you track your Z/G often and you have an aftermarket oil cooler I'd recommend the V-2.

the vortech head unit get's pretty hot under normal operating conditions. i feel if you are running a engine oil cooler or oil "coolers" such as my self and are pushing the blower for higher H.P numbers you are better off with the oil feed V2 to keep the operating temps of the s/c down. if you are not running any type of engine oil cooling system and are not pushing the supercharger hard for max power the V3 may be a better choice IMO.

hi frank,
i just said it seemed like you guys were phasing it out bc on the website, 90% of the options for the g/z are the V-3
either way, less than 10 minute install compared to fussin with those lines was worth everything! i dont track the car, hell barely drive it as every station is out of premium around here.
