Default 350z Twin Turbo info!

I called stillen today to ask about the supercharger. also inquired about the twin turbo. his response was "Well yeah, if we can get the damn thing to not blow the engine." I was like thinking..... *Ok... they must be throwing ALOT of boost in that thing.* and he was like. yeah we might have to make it into a V8............... so... yeah... thought i'd post that..

lol

What? So what you are saying is that they plan on trying to turn the 6 cylinder into an 8!?! I seriously doubt that the person you spoke to know sh*t about what he/her was talking about.

LoL, That'd be something huh? A Small Block Chevy in a 350z.. truely a laughable idea. If anything their just going to rip apart the internals of the current Z motor and strenghten it from the inside out. Atleast thats what I figure. Give it time for all the parts to become readily available. In about a 2 years there wont be a thing you can't do for this car.. I'm sure we'll see a quad-turbo Z before its all said and done. LoL

Yeah, but if tehy give it the same 5.6 or whatever amoun tof boost as with the supercharger, they shouldn't run into any problem of it blowing the motor....

I bet it was equally laughable when people were talking about putting a small block Chevy in a 280ZX chassis...

Problem is the style of supercharger Stillen is using gets way to hot. They pulled two dyno runs with the supercharged 350 at Stillen Day and had to shut down after that due to excessive heat. Plus their supercharged 350 only put 305 to the wheels.

They dyno'd mine after they fixed the dyno. They said a sensor went 'off' inside the dyno. They actually had a guy INSIDE the dyno fixed the thing. You should have seen him. From a distance, all you saw was a head sticking out. But they fixed it and were back to the races. Wich is cool, cuz I had already paid and wasn't about to go get my money back!

I've heard the same thing about too much heat from other manufacturers as well. You can bet that as soon as they solve the issue we'll see them released for sale, and when they do we'll have them.
