I bit the bullet and got the powerlab GT35R
honestly i dont know if i can agree with that. I know the utec has issues with hot starts but I havent had any yet, and I live in FL. I guess its just the way you drive and let car the warm up/cool down? Also, I have the powerlab kit and am running a utec and have not had any issues with smoothness or jerking out of boost. I think that may be more of a tune issue?? just my .o2
Each to their own =)
You down for riding this weekend? 65 rain sat 65 sunny sunday.
Best choice you can make. I don't have a boost guage and feel confident knowing im safe without one. My overboost limiter works...and works well. I set it low just to test it once and when it hit..it felt like my car hit a brick wall..it was a very pronounced feeling...unlike hitting fuel cut or a rev limiter.
Are you not running a boost controller? my boost controller clearly shows the boost, as with peak boost that was hit. When I had my civic, I had both a boost controller and a super AVC-R I never ever ever looked at my boost gauge, I always went to the EBC, so when I did my Z I knew not to waste my money.
a small gauge < < < boost controller.
Now if you're not running a EBC then yes a boost gauge is a must.
Would you rather look at this

I for one love the peak boost. while doing full throttle runs I don't have to watch the gauge, but once I'm off the throttle and not worried about watching the road I can view just how high my boost went.
+ a boost controller is almost a must for most people. so why buy two boost gauges?

+1 i love the avc-r display. after I added it i never really used the defi much either. It was more accurate as well.
its just a new section of pipe I made between the stock muffler and the DP. I will post pics of it over the winter when I take everything back apart to make more room for the kit(will be easier with the motor out)
