Default all APS Single Turbo owners come in.

hi guys.

i am currently in the market for a ST. i've been doing some researchs and read alot of thread about APS vs Turbonetics, TT vs ST. and damn i got a lot of info.

my budget is a bit tight and TT is not an option for me. so i eleminated the option of TT.

i was between APS ST and Turbonetics ... but i noticed something.

i've seen alot of ppl with turbonetics and i asked thema nd they were more than helpful. but didnt see alot of APS owners. so i thought of opening this thread so that i get the benefit from APS ST owners and also maybe oneday someone else will need some info and he can find all the APS ST owners.

please guys.. dont turn it into APs vs TN... only APS ST owners or APS X-owners. i know that some have upgraded to TT.

comon APS owners , share your experience and let us know what you think of the kit, what problems you faced, what tips you can give to new owners, such stuff.

*again i have done a lot of research and couldnt find such a thread, if its a repost please delete it mods and hope someone can provide me with the link for the APS Single turbo owners. *

thanks

No offense intended... But you need to do more research. Have you heard about the PowerLab single turbo kit??? It is far superior and more capable than either of the kits you are considering.

Not really sure what more info you are looking for? You have any specific concerns?

My only advise is, APS kit aside, TN is not a kit I would recommend. I agree that looking into the powerlab setup would be good, but as we discussed via PM, I believe it is out of your budget

Try sending a PM to Driven1 - he has an APS single and is very happy with it.

OP, this is a simple matter of numbers. There are a lot more of us with Turbonetics ST's then with the APS ST, so yes, you're going to find more information pertaining to it.

That being said, if you have any additional questions about the TN kit, feel free to ask me and I'd be glad to help you.

I got the kit, its great and reliable. only downside is you WILL get power hungry and you are limited. If I could do it again I would have waited and gotten the aps TT kit since it has more potential. I was in a similar spot and understand. GTM does have an upgrade that will put you over 550whp but its more expensive than if you just went with the aps TT kit in the first place. powerlabs are awsome kits powerwise but there has been some issues with them, not bashing the kit at all. I got between 10K to 15K on the kit. I would get a solid EBC and external wastegate pipe and a 44mm wastegae and you will be fine, without you will have overboost issues.

The only real 'problem' (so far) with the PL kit is the welds near the wastegate....reinforce and you are fine. I am getting mine rewelded this weekend. The kit has some minor clearance issues, but that is just nature of the beast for 3inch all the way through. You can work around them. Stay away from speedbumps as well. Good luck on whatever you decide.

looking at your sig. I would sell all your NA parts, headers, intake, test pipe, exhaust(same diameter as stock or very close), y pipe etc. and throw it towards the TT kit. you can't use any of it and your going to take another loss if you ever decide to go TT. do it right the first time and save yourself some $.

all have solid solid power for there setups so I would talk to them before, if they are willing to talk. you can pm me if you my advice and experience but it is nowhere near the amount of time nor money those guys have in it.

If you must have a ST, then go with the Powerlab kit or you will regret the others because of the power potential.

APS Extreme TT FTW!!!

like u said. if you are on a budget the aps and tn kit are well within ur grasp. and as for the turbonetics and restrictions is all non sence. understandable the kit wont make more than 5xx amount of power but who on this forums is running that power unless they have a greddy tt/aps tt or powerlab. 400whp/tq is plenty of street fun. given that the tn kit needs much more psi to brake into the 500's but its do-able. just like any other setup, head cams and standalone. the myth of turbonetics has been broken a few times already. as for the aps kit its an awsome kit but like any other kit you would need an exelent tuner/ecu to run relatively safe. as for your headers... i have no idea how the aps kit is routed but i know with the tn kit u would have a problem unless they are the d.c headers.

We are putting on a Turbonetics kit now.... and also finished one last month. It is not a terrible kit by any means, however you will not make a ton of power with it. Far too restrictive. There is not a lot of room to grow with it. I would seriously look at the Powerlab and APS kits over the Turbonetics kit.

i used to have the APS Single kit and was very happy with it. Its reliable and makes ok power (380whp with APS plenum, Fuel Return, 440cc, unichip) I ran this setup for 2 1/2 years with the ONLY problem being the supplied clutch line somehow blew out. You are limited power wise with the kit but its by far in my opinion the most reliable FI setup out there (at least it was for me) ive had the Greddy TT since then and have had nothing but stupid problems (not any more tho thanks to FORGED PERFORMANCE! =) )

Nightcrawler, trust me and go with TT bro. I just sold my kit for a twin turbo and probably lost 2 grand switchin over. Just wait 3 more months and get twins instead of single.

As for aps vs turbonetics. They are both good kits but obviously turbonetics has a bigger name so more people have it.

OP asked for information regarding the APS ST.

If he wanted to ask about the 12,356,728,614 TT vs. ST topics that exist on this forum he would probably have asked from the get-go.
