NE1 removed PCV on passenger side valve cover?
awsome, thanks for the quite responses!
you're not using the maf tuning, but do you know if this would affect someone maf tuning? it doesn't seem like it would. I'm running osiris tuner.

I can't see there being any significant changes in the amount of air being drawn into the engine.
I'm not boosted, but currently running without the pcv connected at all, and both valvecover breathers venting open. Been looking around at the best way to connect a new catch can - if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears! I figure with the rpm's I' pushing, having a catch can is a good idea. I'd prefer to not vent it to air anymore and instead run a totally enclosed setup, just to avoid any smells. My current intake pipe doesn't have a bung on it, but I can easily put one in if necessary. I've always run cans with an open air vent in the past, I've never fully recirculated it, so that part is new to me. I've read so many threads on how people say it should be done, it gets a bit confusing admittedly, as there never seems to be concensus
here was the can I was considering - I wanted to mount it horizontally at the rad support, similar to how the ARC V2 is

I run all of mine open too, including the ports where the 2 valve covers connect. I would like a nice catch can too but there isnt any more room in my bay
Let me know if you come up with anything, the smell of 4 open crankcase vents is nauseating sometimes

oh, not to get off topic but some locals were talking about your car a few weeks back. They were talking about a sick fast g35 at muncie. I do'nt remember when they said they saw you run though. Kind of cool to hear a fellow member getting praised.
i'm just running mine wide open as well. thats quarantee'd to work as well or better than these convoluted catch/can check valve options at basically no cost. m just have to clean those breather every once in a while

seriously, it does get to be a bit much at times
a few weeks ago I took the car out and went to visit my parents which is about an hours drive- - my dad comes out to look at the car since he knows I spent alot more time this year on it. He laughed that as nice as everything turned out "why do you smell like you were working on it all day today" lololol - I had to laugh. So yeah, I need something
Chris - do you notice any smell with the open vent located under the cover?
What I liked about the vibrant is that the endcaps come threaded for the hose ends both around the perimeter as as well as the top center of each cap, plus, it can be cut to be any length you need.

hell i dont even run a breather filter, just a piece of hose that dumps it to the ground. I saw the crap that was coming out of those valve covers and I cant believe any would ever want to re route that into their intake
good thing we dont have emissions here
good to know Chris...gives me hope!
I guess I could always run a breather down under the car to a filter - I think I'm going to order the vibrant can tomorrow just to see how it all maps out
I previously had the ARC V1 on my original engine, but sold it when I started the ITB's because it wouldn't fit with the airhorns - I wish I still had it! On that setup, IIRC, we went from the rear driver valvecover breather, t'd into the front breather, which then also connected to the passenger breather. The PCV then ran separately to the canister, and it had a small orifice at the top of the can as a vent. I honestly have no idea if that was a correct way to run it or not, though on the surface it seemed correct. It never collected anything though

Looks like Chris found a good place to put the open breather. I had mine out front in the engine bay and it would smell at idle with the AC on. I also think that the type of motor you have (how loose it is, stock vs. built) may have an impact on the design you decide to use. My leakdown #s are decent but I think I only get really good piston ring seal with a bit of vacuum in the crankcase at idle. Wthin the cylinder, vacuum is around -8 psi according to my boost gauge. I put a cheap mechanical gauge on my catch can and it reads -6 psi in the catch can using the manifold for vacuum at idle. You may suck up oil with too much vacuum (so I use 1/4" fitting instead of 3/8", a check valve and switched to 2 catch cans in series over the weekend to provide resistance to air flow and minimize any oil getting back into the manifold).

my catch can will be here tomorrow, from there I have to sit down and map out the plumbing
Quadcam/anyone, did you find any adapters for the pcv that would allow a thread on fitting?
