Default Powerlabs kit and screeching noise from pipping

Has anyone with a Powerlabs kit noticed a screeching noise on decal with this kit? It almost sounds as though someone were scrapping their finger nails on a chalk board. If I am at idle and rev to say 4k rpm and let off the gas you can hear the screech all the way down back to idle.

You can also hear it when you downshit to a lower gear while decelerating. I have heard these same exact noises on 350z with a Powerlabs kit installed so I know it is not just my car making this noise.

Also, I promised pictures of my downpipe scrapping from my previous thread that magically disappeared. Anything I can do about this without major work to my car. I wanted to lower the car but I am afraid to do so as the downpipe keeps scrapping the ground on medium to large sized speed bumps. My downpipe now rattles against the subframe every now and again and it gets worse everytime I hit a speed bump.

What do you guys think?

This is the picture of the scraping. You can see how the gasket is being flattened

Just a silly question.... you sure it's not a belt squeeling? A mis-aligned pulley will cause the belt to make rediculous noise. Just my .02

I use to rub going over speed bumps with my Invidia exhaust if I didn't hit the speed bump just right. Again, the 350Z is a low car. it is a sports car.

I do have to say, looking at both our pictures it does look like your DP is a bit lower then mine. I wonder if you rotated the up pipe a bit moving the turbo a bit forward if that would give you a bit more clearance on the DP? Trying to think if that A/C bracket will allow for enough play to rotate it.

HMmmm

Etiher way, that isn't your screeching noise issue, that's being cause by something else, did you see my post in the other thread?

You do not need to touch any of the belts during the install...

not to say the shop didn't touch them however you do not need to.

OP, I believe you spoke to Han, and a friend of ours (Mike) earlier today. I hope we can help you get your two issues sorted out. Hopefully the tips Han gave you earlier about the DP angle adjustment help. I'm not 100% sure what you guys were talking about (busy getting the new shop setup), but I'm sure we will get it figured out. Please feel free to PM INTENSEPOWER, IntenseSales, or myself and we will do our best to help you get this situation resolved. Thanks!!!

I have the same issues sometimes where I hear a weird lil sound but from what Jeremy told me its not an issue. It's jsut a weird noise that Powerlab can't figure out.

^^^
werd... the thing is that its most likely something rubbing somewhere...
i guess we all understand now why companies like greddy or hks dont come out with turbo kit with bigger piping....what jermey said is probably true, its something rattling somewhere that isnt going to be a big deal other than a li anoying...will see, so far jeffie posted some pics to some areas that you might wanna look again, i have seen enough powerlab cars that i know there is no rattling...however the tight fit creates different areas that is not installed right it could create rattling noise

I dont get how something is rubbing the same way on 3 different cars now...or maybe z2envy is the white 350z i saw there?? I just hate the sound with a passion and want figure out what it is. Its not the belts squeeling and from what I can tell (not a performance pro) nothing is touching. From what my pro tells me nothing is touching either. I dont know I guess we can give it time to figure out what it really is...

My Z is blue. But when I spoke to Jeremy it he mentioned that every Z he's worked on with the Powerlab kit makes the same lil noise. It's not a rattling or rubbing sound. More like a lil squeel. You can probably here it in one of my 2 dyno runs I posted in my thread.

Personally the sound doesn't even bother me cause either my music is up or my exhaust is so loud I don't even notice it. I only heard it while the car was on the dyno and Jeremy pointed it out. Other then that it doesn't bother me 1 bit.

the white z is my car, and mine too makes the screeching noise on decel from low boost (3500-4000) rpm. not sure what it is either. just learned to live with it.

When you identify the screeching problem, let us kow...I think this may be the same sound I am getting. I figured it was either something leaky on the WG or some type of vacuum issue. My front bumper is off now to start doing some pryng to my noise issue, but I havn't had a moment since it came off to check anything
