turbokanji was nice enough to include brand new stainless lines for the rears in our trade so all this bulky hardware will be unnecessary. I decided against sending the rotor hats out for powder coating since only 1/2 inch or so is visable on the rears only behind my rims.

Since I have started dressing up the engine compartment I decided that only having the bolts on the motor looking nice may not be enough so I found a complete set of engine compartment bolts available at Courtesy Parts Nissan in Texas. I bought the kit and will send it to powder coat to get all the bolts done - $87.95 shipped

On the downside I just realized that I bought a stock set of injectors from 350z 7k and they never showed up . Not his fault at all, he sent them with no issues at all. FedEx claims the drivers checking device malfunctioned and they were delivered, but they were not. I have so many parts coming and going I just forgot about them until I was looking back through my PMs. Also, since I decided not to return to stock, they are no longer needed, so no longer a priority.
Oh well, I opened a claim with FedEx and we will see how that goes. They could not have treated me more like a scammer if they tried and that amused me greatly .

Rides for sure and good luck on the recovery. Is your car totalled or is there going to be some summer rehab work on the car as well?
I have a bunch of packages coming in over the next 2-3 weeks and then the major moves can start happening. I think I only have one or two components left to purchase to have all the pieces gathered up and ready to assemble. I'm still deciding if the DSS level 2 axels will be enough for me (rated 500whp) or if the level 5 is required? Input is welcome from those in the know on this.
I have decided to go with the Autronic EMS and be a second guinea. Dave at F:T feels very comfortable with it and that makes me feel at ease. Also, he is wiring it into a harness patch so it will be plug & play on my car and not be hard wired. If the stars ever align and Dave is able to put up the thread on the Autronic he would be able to explain fully how my Z will run a single tune and a single boost map. Somehow the Autronic will know whether I have the meth turned on or not and will be wired so the failsafe in the Aquamist HSF-5 will cut boost if I run out of juice or clog a nozzle.
I say thanks again to all the forum members that have helped me so far with either technical expertise or smooth transactions on parts sales. Recognition as well for Frank Hill, for being the man with the plan every step of the way, and for Dave at F:T getting ready to turn my dream into reality.

Moreover, some of the guys have had some problems with their level 5 axles, though I don't think everyone has. There was a thread on this a few months ago.

Saw that thread from a while back and it seems as though the issue with the level 5's can be fixed prior to installation, but you have given me exactly the feedback I am looking for on the level 2's. I won't be going to the drags and will be running street tires almost always. Plus, the majority of my hard pulls will be made from a rolling start. Thank You for the info .... anyone else?

If you plan on doing the 1/4 mile with slicks, INVEST IN THE DSS PRO SERIES AXLES!!!
The problem with the Level 5 axles is that they still retain the stock inner CV. The inner CV gave way and broke at the track on Intense's widebody G. Hard launches on slicks are going to find the weak links in the drivetrain, and in the case of the Level 2 and Level 5 axles, it's the stock inner CV. The Pro Series has a beefed up inner CV.
Once Intense installed the Pro Series axles on the widebody G, the next weak link discovered was that the differential has only one mounting point to the frame. The diff tried to separate itself from the car. This is being addressed on my build and Jorge's build with SPL's solid diff bushings and PowerLab is developing a billet diff cover that incorporates a second hard mounting point to the frame. Sound Performance has also developed a diff brace that they are using on their 9 second shop Z.
But if you don't plan on using slicks, this stuff is probably overkill for your needs.

I'm in the same boat as you Cass.
We want to make a pass or two with a full slick to put up a number, so I will prob need DSS pro's for that. I too have no cage so we'll only get one run lol.
Until now though I've been on stock half-shafts with 900hp (but no sticky tire). I may just go with level 2's and hope for the best at the few drag trips I make. And as always, stay away from wheelhop.

I need to get more parts back soon. All the money and parts keep going out only and progress is slow right now. Having time to think when I'm just waiting on parts always makes me wonder if this was a smart idea in todays economy.

I picked up the calipers and a few other parts last night from the powder coater so we could finish the brake swap and get the car on its wheels again to load onto a trailer and head to the shop. The car can't be driven because I am still waiting on my headlights and the front fascia is off because of the headlights as well. The brakes came out awesome, a few minor flaws, but overall they look outstanding IMO.
We ran into a problem when mounting the rear calipers, we have the wrong size banjo bolts somehow and one of the calipers needs a tap run through it because the threads are chewed up a bit. No local part place or dealership had the bolts in stock so I called Frank and he said I could put a few extra washers on till we get the car to him and he will put the correct size banjos on. Now we are trying to source the tap, which is proving difficult - M10x1.0 is apparently an odd size - thanks Brembo.

The powder coat was done without removing the seals so we will see if they held up to the heat or if a rebuild kit will be needed once we are able to bleed the system.

Some pics of how they look on the car. The pics really don't do them justice. I will try to take a few when we get the car outside in the sunlight, but its been pretty gray out lately.
Of course the new Brembo stickers did not come in on time, so I will have to add them on at another time. All this rushing around so I can get the car down to Hills Garage to get the TN kit removed for a buyer. Lots more goodies are on the way.....shortly I hope .
Total cost for powder coating these and some other pieces (plus stripping and recoating the plenum) - $290.00
Of course the new Brembo stickers did not come in on time, so I will have to add them on at another time. All this rushing around so I can get the car down to Hills Garage to get the TN kit removed for a buyer. Lots more goodies are on the way.....shortly I hope .
