Default SGP downpipes fit with SVRT WG Dumps.

Updated with pictures in POst #7

I finally got around to installing my sgp 3" downpipes for my greddy twins. I've had them for well over 6 months now, and they have just been sitting around.

I had previously installed the SVRT WG relocation/dump pipes. (not sure if these are still made, but alot of people have have.)

The install is a PITA...just like everything with the GReddy kit, but it is managable with an assortment of wrenches, regular, articulating head, and shorty wrenches. If you installed you own greddy kit, then this is a breeze!

Anyway, the SGP pipes fit without a problem with the SVRT dump pipes!!!!

on the passenger side, the pipes do touch, but just barely. they touch right where the wastegate mounts to the relocation pipe. If I had noticed it earlier in the install, I would have heated up and dimpled the Downpipe for a bit more clearance, but it was a little too late. I wasn't gonna go backwards!

I'll take some pics next time I put my car back up on the lift......I had my camera ready, but realized I left the CF card at the office. oops.

One thing that I really should do is come up with a better to route CJM fuel system..... I am not comfortable with the feed and return lines being so close to the DP......around an inch away! 1500* and gasoline doesn't sound like a good combo. It has been this way ever since installing the CJM kit a couple years ago, and nothing has happened.......but it still bothers me. I'll probably need to make up some new lines for the fuel system but it will clean things up anyway.

regardless, I have digressed from the topic at hand.

the point here is to confirm that the SGP downpipes do fit with the SVRT WG relocation pipes!

the fuel system should be **several** inches away from the downpipes when using a test pipe with the greddy downpipe adapters... so im not sure why yours has been so close all this time... here is an old pic of mine, really old.

HOWEVER, I also noted when I changed to 3" downpipes and wastegate dumps that the clearance is really reduced and the fuel lines got really close because the larger downpipes started to bend downward much closer to the turbos. i did reroute them, but i went pretty overboard, i made a new hardpipe and brought the fuel lines thru the fender area and bolted them to the block by the bellhousing with brackets i made. it wasnt so much the downpipes as it was the dump tubes that became really close.

im building a whole new setup right now for a winter project, so if you want to contact me in a month or so i can probably get you the new hardpipe and brackets i made.

Charles,

you have a huge amount of room in that pic! I've never had that much room to work with. My setup has always been a tight fit. It's always worked, but now that I have a lift, I have more time to actually look at the stuff I should modify.

I, too, was thinking about bring the feed and return lines through the fenderwell or something similar. Actually, I was thinking about relocating the battery to the trunk, and using the vacated area for all sorts of things, including bringing the fuel lines up through that area.

I will take pics when I can, but both my wife and son are sick with the flu.......I am playing nurse today.

ya... i know its a tight fit with the bigger downpipes and dumps but with the test pipe setup it should fit like mine if you route the slack focusing on keeping it all in that area. we obviously chose that route because to take the factory route brings the fuel lines about an inch from the manifold and turbo... but some people running the larger downpipes may need to build a couple small extension lines for the -6 return and -8 feed to get more slack so they can route the fuel lines a little different, such as following the crossmember part and coming up the trans from a lower location

finally, I have some pics!

sorry I don't have any before shots.

here's one of the pass side turbo getting ready to get a new downpipe!

here's what I did to make more room for the downpipe and the WG relocation. I used a torch to heat the DP and then hammered away! lol.... the pipes were OK with this "dimple" but I rather have them not touching.

If you look closely, you can see just how little room there is to access the nuts. it can be done though.

All Finished up!!!!
