Im doing a Custom Twin Turbo setup, need input
I wish people would make these posts after they finish.. not before..
too many fcking dreamers on this board.. i wish i could fcking build a teleporting machine that would make me teleport from my living room to my desk at work.. but mark my words.. i won't make a post about it till i am finished
No Offence to you OP.. but quite frankly i am sick of these types of threads.. don't talk about it.. be about it

I say find someone who has built a custom TT kit for a 350Z and ask them what obstacles they ran into and if it was cost effective in the end.
(disclaimer:assuming you have the experience to not blow up your car...or burn it to the ground)
this would be an interesting use of two smallish turbo's,a twin rear mount setup has not been done yet an a z and would be a worthy project.as far as a conventional setup,it would be foolish to re-invent the wheel, especially with complete used kits floating around.

Hey Doug, no offense, but its kind of hard to get input on a project AFTER you have it done, get it? Its kind of like researching how to put together a turbo, after youve done it, which makes little sense. Good luck with that teleportation device, let us know how it goes.
^most likely internal WG's. I say get test pipes. hack the hell out of it and make a smooth 90* bend and route back to exhaust. and have the compressor shoot towards the front of the car.
I was bored!

If you can weld and have fab skills, you can certainly make your own turbo kit!! The only real difficult part about it is the ridiculously tight space constraints under the car and getting the piping forward. When I built ours the motor went out and in probably 6 times to check clearance and fitment. Remember that if you are going to use those turbos and build your own headers, you will probably be mounting the turbos low so you will need to build an oil scavenge system for it.
Good Luck!!

Packaging packaging packaging. You can definitely do it, but it is tight under there. This isn't like making a quick manifold for a DSM where you have easy access and space to work with.
wannabuy350z: first, your photoshop skills are amazing. second, have you looked under a 350z lately, there is little space :/

your current car has low mounted turbos (life the SFR kits), right?
I can't yet drive for a couple more years but I really want a 2003 350z that I'm going to save up my money to get. I was wondering if it is safe to buy the TD04 turbo off a Saab 9-5 from my local junkyard and make a custom set up for this car. Once again I do not have a car yet therefore I do not have any problems or milage yet. But I was wondering if it is safe or worth it and if anyone else has done it?
Welcome to the forum SGT -
not worth it … the turbos might be inexpensive but you will spend $1000s of dollars finding headers, downpipes, wastegates, cold side, BOV, etc. Roughly speaking, a basic turbo kit will run $4k to $6k minimum - so factor that in.
You should plan on buying the car first and just enjoy safely driving the car.
what do you want to do with the car? Daily driver? Drift? Track? Drag?
