I scrapped the project, lack of funding.

j/k

Nothing new yet, I ordered some silicone couplers (45deg and 90deg) recently. They should be here tommorow. I also ordered two cast alluminium 90's, one will be welded right to the compressor housing do to space. The reason for cast 90's is that they are tight radius. So it's a bit slow at this point.

In the mean time I sold all my UTEC stuff and bought the Haltech ultimate. It is being sent to Hal@IP, and he will wire the harness up for dual wideband sensors. I guess I should go and weld two more O2 bungs to accomdate the additional sensor.

There is a local member who used to tune cars for a living, he already offered to help. He is running the Haltech and is extremly happy with it, tuned by him. This should get me going at least. I will take it to a tuner though, the tuner is very familiar with the VQ paltform and has tuned a few TT setups.

The member that offered to help is Travis or "JuJube" here on the forum. As far as shops go, I will take it to Cam @ lightspeed innovations.

If I was to really get on it I could have it done in a couple of days. Things to do:

Finish cold pipes (1/2 day)
Install Injectors (have harness with clips so that will be quick)
Install A pillar with guages
Mount scavenge pump
Run oil lines (again very easy and fast)
Install fuel pump

The haltech is on it's way to Hal for dual wideband wiring with controller, so that will be a PnP setup. May I ask why your are inquiring about completion date?

Oh I will get it done and it will work great. Couple of days ago I ordere this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-06...ayphotohosting

I realy only need the piping, it will take me from the TB straight down to the FMIC outlet. This will save som time on the piping as this will fit righ in there.
I really don't think I will have any problems with this setup. The Haltech will have alot to do with it though.

Maybe I will mass produce...

Oh, keep in mind that the car probably won't be on the road untill May. This is do to the great Canadian winter that never seems to end. Hopefully the melt will start early this year, March would be great but highly doubtfull.

Travis is an awsome guy! i bought his coilovers from him!

op- awsome job on the kit so far! i know how hard it is to build something custom like this with kids, family, job, wife (seperate from family cause she is on another level), and the daily things we face as supporting fathers! so keep up the good work and hope to see this thing rip!

Default Update

Well, today I magaged to get most of the turbo to IC piping done, as well as mount the scavange pump. I didn't have too much time, and I am still waiting for some parts to come in, so I did what I could.

With some creative cutting and welding I managed to get around the front controll arms so that there is no way it will ever rub/touch the pipping. I put my floor jack under the passenger side wheel and lifted it as much as I could just to check clearences. At this point I have 1" of clearance with the suspention fully compressed and decompressed, so I am happy with that.

This is where I had to stop. I am wating for some tight radiust (cast) aluminium 90 deg elbows. One will get welded right to the compressor housing, as the original outlet has already been cut.

I am hoping to get all the other parts in next week, and hopefully I can start the car next weekend. This wasy I can check for any leaks in the oil system, exhaust and IC piping. After that, I will have to install the fuel pump, Haltech and injectors.

That is beautiful so far... After this is all said and done what will be the total cost estimated? Also, do you think youll get the parts duplicated so you can sell these?

^^ Thank you.

So far I think I am at about $2,000.00. This esentially includes absolutely everythig except the Haltech.

If there is interest in a kit like this I would make them and sell them. If it comes to that, I would buy polished 304 stainless and build the hot piping out of that. This is purely for estetic reasons. I would build it off of the car as I am doing it right now, this ensures 100% fittment. It would be very easy/fast. I spent many hours under the car simply deciding how and where things will go, now that all that is figured out the build would be cake walk.

I think there would be interest in this do to the fact that I have yet to remove any stock components from the car, this excludes exhaust. This was the main reason I decided to do this, every kit out there that I have looked at IMO is poorely poorly designed. I see many threds with titles like " my A/C line melted". I think install time with this kit would also be about 5 easy hours, that would encourage people to do it themselves and save a few $$$, instead of paying someone else to do it.

In other words, when I decided to build this I thought about making a few for others if interested.

LOL if you plan to sell the kit don't post how much it costs you to build, people will want 2,500$ turbo kits

There is a few reasons why he could post the price, first is to prove he is still making out on savings.. Simply because when others would say he could have just bought XXX kit for XXX price and save the headache.. Another reason is its his kit/fabrication so he could charge wtf ever he wants for production being he still would have to re make the entire kit for a customer..

Its going to be a good price no matter what so far and another option for some people to think about..
