There's a buch of unnecessary and cheated bends in this system.

but hey you asked ?

IMO it seemed like you wanted to save some money from buying a single kit and that they were inferior for whatever reason. I would defer from using mild steel for charge and turbo piping. If you have the capability to make your own kit why not use the best materials and save on labor?

You really need to go to page one and start reading before you making a post like this. Are you able to tell just by looking at all of this? It's all 2.5". Mild steel? It's all 409 stainless.

You need to do some research on scavenge pumps.

As far as piping size goes, I may have been better off going 2" from the headers to a 2.5" collector. But that's about the only thing we can agree on.

Now, since you know so much I'd like to see some pictures of stuff you have built. Not trying to be an *** here but you have to back the talk up.

Let's keep it civil, it's just a turbo build thread.

Guy...why dont you wait until his project is complete before bashing him Or maybe you could post pic's of the better job on the build that you are doing.

I for one would like to see this completed

I knew that there will be at least one person like him jumping in this thread. I don't see it as negative, but rather entertaining.

Just wondering do you wire brush your welds? Or is that the way 409 beads look?

Suscribed. Id be interested if you make up this kit too. What do you think this would be capable of on a built block??

This is all I ever use on the welds:

It has to be stainless though, if you use a steel brush it will contaminate the weld and the weld will rust. Ofcourse this takes a few years to show up, but I have seen it where the weld is exposed to alot of moisture.

I honestly don't know, but if you are building your block you should probably go with the TT setup. These are the specs of the turbo I have:

COMPRESSOR SPECS:T04S housing

flow: 61 lbs/min 781cfm
.70 A/R housing
60 TRIM wheel
TURBINE SPECS:T3
.63 A/R housing
HIGH FLOW 76 TRIM stg 3 wheel

supportable of 575whp!
If I ever build the block I will go with twins, again I will fabricate everything myself. I think that a TT setup would be easy to make, as they are smaller and would fit on the stock manifold flanges. Maybe some time down the road.

Well I wish I had the know how to fabricate one myself. I am very open with DIY and have done quite a few different projects. But FI fabrication is not one of those.
I am going to do my own install as my friend as a garage with lift at her house I can use as long as I need.
I am hoping to do a TT on built block then next winter I am looking to get into the 600-700 WHP range.

Time for an update and a setback.

Now that everything is comming together as far as piping goes, I have noticed a small problem. The crossover pipe that I originally had build, going from the passenger side header over to the driver side collector is a bit tight. I ran it just before the transmision brace/support and even though there is pleny of room to dropp it I decided to reroute it.
This will make it much simpler, and probably more efficient. I will do the crossover just behind the bell housing simmilar to the Turbonetics kit. The line will not be 2.5" either, it will downsize to 2". This is still plenty big considering it will serve three cylinders and will only be about 3' long.

This way it will also be much easier to duplicate....

Tommorow I will pick up the tubing and start the changeover. It is very minor and I will have it done in a few hours, so not a big deal. Here is a "very rough" idea of what I mean, red is new, yellow will go.

By the end of this weekend all the piping will be complete (IC piping as already welded up and fits just perfect), and I will start with the injectors and fuel pump some time next week. I got a tracking number from Hal@IP today so the Haltech will go in very soon as well.

I also got around to doing some litle stuff, like relocating the power steering cooler and running some oil lines. I still need that dam T adaptor for the oil pressure sensor/turbo oil supply. I contacted a couple of Turbonetics dealers (not on this forum) regarding the T but no response.

What site sponsor can I PM for this dam T fitting?

The stuff you see is a standard stainless (409) 2.5" exhaust kit available online. It came with 2 90's, 4 45's, 2 S bends, and 2 U bends
