:IBTL: whatever engine oil you think is best for the moving parts in your engine is probably the best choice for a supercharged engine. this argument is dead. if you search you'll find various opinions.

Just use a good quality oil. If you have a built motor or build it in the future use what your builder recommends.

I have used Motul 8100 in my car (twin turbo). I have also read positive feedback on Amsoil and Mobil1 (0W-40). Regardless of what you chose, change it frequently. Check the oil at least once a week if you are FI.

Opinions vary, but overall these are typically regarded as "good" oils for F/I and built motors (listed in no particular order).

Motul 8100 10W-40
Motul 8100 15W-50 (summer/warm climates only)
Amsoil 10W-40
Mobil1 0W-40

I have used Schaefer for racing going back to the early 70's but there are many good oils. The non-synthetic oil changed a few years ago with the advent of hydro cracking (a Chevron invention). Oil lasts much longer than in the past. Ford calls for changing the oil every 7,500 miles now even in severe service.

In my Tundra I go 12,500 miles between changes while doing 35-40,000 per year. Our Chevy trucks at work go 9,000. We always use a Wix gold filter. In all cases the oil is fine, the Chevy's are just showing engine minerals and the oil needs to be flushed. The Toyota's oil is still clean at this point, it is just precautionary. In our 94 Maxima I have used Shaefer since 1995, I change it every 10,000 (18 months). Its samples have always been clean.

My Z will probalby only go 6,000 per year at the most, I will send a sample to Schaefer at 4,000 and see what they say. I imagine they will recommend to change it once per year. The sample testing free.

Chevron also does free testing. I am sure Amsoil and Royal Purple will do the same. In a test I found on the internet Royal Purple and Amsoil faired very well, far supassing Mobil 1. The tester ran out of money before they could test any others.

It depends on how you drive your car. If you are constantly cruising the highway the oil will have a long life. If you are doing a 100 mile race every Saturday change it before every race.

Find an oil jobber in the DR and talk to them. The technology has improved tremendously.

By the way, we supply and install the lube equipment to most of the fleets in our region so we do get the latest tech news. These guys are putting the stuff in engines that cost more than our cars.

^^^^^^^I dont care what oil you use ....Crisco to Moble 1...if you are FI going more than 3000 miles on the same oil is asking for trouble. I am sure that Ford would not tell you to go 12000 between oil change on their Ford Lightning
