It's easier to install the engine from the front of the car without the downpipes instale3ld. The downpipes can be reached under the car wit hthe trans installed with an imaginative collection of extensions and swivels about 2 feet long.

Andrew and I ran into a problem tonight the looks like will be the end to my outing at the track. I am using SVRT solid engine mounts which are 1/4" shorter than the OEM mounts. When we went to put in the replacement stearing universal joint supplied with the kit it was not going in. We had to loosen the drivers side engine mount and use the engine hoist to lift the motor to get the universal joint in. Then when we lowerd the motor the universal joint was rubbing against the turbo turbine housing. I need to get a thicker spacer.

So it looks like Saturday isn't happening for me. Too bad.... we were so close! Losing the $400 track fee and $300 hotel reservation deposit hurts too.

I get the big Ffor FAIL!

why not just use the OEM motor mounts for now. Thats gotta be better option than losing out on 700$

the oem mounts won't clear LArry's custom oil lines. I thought of that one already.

How bad was it rubbing? Could you grind down the housing a little to keep it from rubbing, without compromising the housing?

get some IP solid mounts overnighted? Or get some steel locally and add onto the mounts.

We are having a 1/2" spacer made this afternoon. I am going to pick it up in about an hour. This should fix the problem. We will make another attempt to finish the car tonight and have it at Japtrix for the tune at 8AM Thursday. Hopefully they can get the tune done by Friday night by closing.

I hope I can finish it tonight. I hope there are no more issues.

Unfortunately we had a few setbacks that will keep us from getting the car completed in time to run at Sebring on Saturday.
