Default XKR Super G... Going for Mach 1

Here is my stage 5....Build by Forged Performance and powered by GTM

Complete new motor : GTM 4.0 Stroker
GTM GT35xkr Turbo's
Cosworth Heads
Stage 3 camshafts # 282
HKS 1200cc Injectors
CJM Upfront Intake Plenum ( when complete)
Full carbon fiber underplate from front to back with Defusers
Roll cage with removable upper and lower beams.
And whatever else it takes to get me over 1050whp (DD or DJ)or blowup Sharif's dyno

Why Because I plan on running this car in the 2010 Silver State Classic. I need to be able to hold speeds of 175 + mph and reach speeds of over 195+ mph for 90 miles. If I can hold 195+ mph for 12.5 miles at a time...I am good to go That means I can hold the 175 for the rest

The carbonfiber underplate will give me the down force I need with out having to change the stock look...which would some how bump me into the monster bracket

BTW...I will be selling my motor as a long block with cams and everything at a good price...the 850BB TT, 3.5" Down Pipes and manifolds will also be included....all you have to do is drop it in your car.As soon as Sharif gives me a selling price...I will list it. I told Sharif to make the price attractive.

EVERYTHING SOLD !!!!!...Thank you !!!

wow good luck! only thing I can think of that might be tricky is consistant fuel delivery on the extended runs.

Cooling is going to be an issue for a sustained run like that...I wouldn't worry about the full carbon undertray, Just slap on a monster wing. G/L..thats lotsa $$.

SP triple pump, or a fuel cell maybe. Oil starvation maybe a concern. Maybe a dry-sump system is in order?

Sounds good except for the removable cage. Good cages cant be easily removed.

Since I had to google it I thought I would save others the time:

Event Descriptions

Nevada Highway 318 Events

The Nevada Highway 318 events are identical, differing only in the time of year. They begin just South of Lund, at White Pine County just north of mile marker 9, head South through Nye County, and finish at Lincoln County mile marker 7. The journey traverses 90 miles of two lane highway which has recently been repaved and is in excellent condition, with long straights, twisty sections, and dips, which for the faster participants, may result in an airborne experience. Entrants receive a set of Course Notes and a video tape to help them prepare for the event. The cars are run in classes at five mile per hour increments, from 95 mph to 180 mph, with the class determined by the vehicle's safety equipment, the driver's experience level and the driver/navigator comfort level. There is also an Unlimited Division for very experienced drivers with full race-equipped cars. Vehicles are started at one minute intervals and 30 second intervals, beginning with the 150 mph class and working back to the 95 mph class. Once the last 95 mph class vehicle clears the course, the Unlimited Division and the higher speed brackets over 150 are run as the final group.

The "High Noon Shootout" at the "Classic Corral" is a new and additional event presented by the SSCC. This event is a One-Mile acceleration contest on fenced SR-490, in Ely, NV taking place on the Saturday's before the NORC and SSCC events from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm. This event will allow the driver to test their cars at speed and perform final tuning and reliability checks before the Sunday event. All participants must be registered pass final tech inspection prior to 12:00 noon Saturday. Cars will be allowed as many runs as possible within the time allowed by the road closure permit. Detailed information will be supplied at registration and results will be announced at the Driver's Meeting on Saturday night. You can do this exicting new "Shootout" for only $200.00. For those that have already entered the event and are interested in registering for the "High Noon Shootout", please contact Steve Waldman by email stevezw@***.net or (702) 631-6166 or contact Gail Waldman at register@silverstateclassic.com.

Nice Mike,

Good luck on the build......now whever we finally meetup and run I get a 1 mile head start

Can't wait for the progress updates.

tom

edit - guessing you are going for super sport (average 160-170mph), both that and unlimited require a fuel cell.....could always tech for a lower speed and just go faster lol

Mike....I'm with Bert on the cage deal.At the speeds you're planning to go,I would invest in a custom made cage and have it welded in. Sounds like a cool project you're doing.

There will be a co-driver watching gauges...if temp get too high...I will come off it....I hope fast enough

I was going to have Sharif put it on an engine dyno before running it...but I thing if temps and pressures are watched...I will be fine.

I was going to cheat and go in a lower bracket (under 150)...thats why I dont want to change the stock look of the car....you start changing wings and things..they look deeper...Thats my reason for the undertray. Yes I have a co-pilot.

I may have said iit the wrong way....its a full weld in steup...but I want to be able to unbolt the upper and lower side sections. I know what you are saying...its welded in.

Now you see my plan. I cannot run with the cars that WILL run over 210 mph....but I will catch a few that will reach 190+.

Oh yeah....I agree with you and Berto and thats the plan...I just want to be able to unbolt the upper and lower sections. Hitting my knee and head is not cool without a helmet getting in and out of the car on the street !! I edited the roll cage part.
