Just noticed this thread Cass. Thanks for the info. WTF happened to the other thread that Jay'Z made??? It just disappeared!!!
My 2 cents... Go with option 2 if quick spool is important to you and you're fairly sure that you're not gonna want much more than 600whp. But if you think you might wanna go for 700whp, get the GT30 internals now. Your longblock would go well with either choice.
I think this kit is fine to reach 600whp I have one we didn't finish tuning it
and at 14.5 psi we reached 505 whp and 498 t we can easy reach 530 at the
same psi see the dyno sheet
What is the rest of your setup, if you dont mind me asking? Also, do you have the newer style with the journal bearings or the older BB style Garretts?
Can you confirm that standard Garrett turbos will bolt up to APS exhaust manifolds? I was under the impression that they could not, but would like to know for sure...
According to George at GTM there are a few options for a direct bolt up swap.
no no 594 hp not on wheel 505whp 594hp on flywheel we use pump gas 97
no meth or anything else
ahhhh, we all talk in terms of wheel hp on here....my goal is 600+whp
From what bryan@Z1 tells me the 505whp on a DD is close to the max out on the new turbos. I may be able to get close to 550whp, but that will be pushing the turbos to their limits.
I haven't tried to go more than 16 psi but I think they can handle 600whp believe me
don't wast your money 600whp is more than you need for a street car ^_^

LOL at your comments about wasting money and telling somebody that 600whp is more than they need. Better turbos are not a waste of money. Furthermore, the shops/experts here do not agree with your assertion that these turbos are capable of 600whp. Cass007 had an inspection performed on these journal bearing turbos by a reputable Garrett dealer that refutes what you are claiming.
Why reccommend the smaller ones when you are going to run the GT30's?
You are one of the true been there and done that members on the forum so I always value your opinion. Plus, I believe we use our cars in a very similar manner.
Like I said on other thread...option 3.............after one run against someone thats faster (and there is always someone faster) you'll want more lol

SL all choices seem good though

+10000 - Those are my thoughts exactly. If I take option 3 and still get walked at least I can be assured its by someone else that has put a ton of effort or $$$$$ into their car. Even if I have some lag, which I didn't mind with my TN kit, I should have the revs and top end to track down anyone giving me a ricer flyby.
