Default Deatschwerks install question

I'm installing deatschwerks 600's for my vortech. I pulled out the oem injectors and compared them with the deatschwerks, but the dw's are different.

The OEM attaches to the clips by a nub on the outside and a plastic notch around the circumference of the injector; the dw has no nub and their is no plastic notch, just a gap between the plastic injector body and a metal sleeve at the injector top.

Is this how the DW's are supposed to fit? I got them in, but the clips don't fit very well without the circumferential notch in the plastic.

They are direct fit. Just throw them in there after you make sure you apply oil or their lubricant they provide.

What you need clips for. I ran injectors without clips. Just pop em in and go.

I was thinking the same thing... they are bolted down by the fuel rail; do they really need to be clipped in also?

Well...

When I installed my 440's (I use RC's, BTW) I didn't have any problems not having the clips on...but for some reason when I switched to 650's, the stupid injectors kept popping out! It gave me and my tuner nightmares when I was getting tuned....

I finally decided to pop the clips on, and the problems went away...

Just sharing some personal experience...I may have just had some bad luck...

They fit fine with my CJM rails so I don't see why they wouldn't with the AAM rails.

All injectors will fit, the only thing is with RC injectors, you need another set of spacers for the rails.

Did you install the spacer in between the fuel rail and the manifold?
