Actually from my knowledge only Stillen S/C will require you to get a different hood. The Stillen are more than one kit and I forgot which one will require a different hoot. Anyway I would recommend a Vortech over a Stillen kit.

^^ thanks for the info. when taken a look at the F/I thread on differnt turbo or supercahrgers etc, how come supercharger time is slower if they are putting out same power, could it be that they are running less boost?

also when i was reading the thread, it didnt talk about the longevity of the car for supercharged. any input, this is with stock and not built motor

Actually yes, all of your questions are answered in the "forced induction for noobs" you just have to have some time on your hands if you expect to read all of it.

Or look at Sentry's Sticky on Vortech Superchargers...

BTW...Superchargers will have decent HP numbers, but will never match turbo's torque numbers....

To answer your question and get my post count higher. A turbo makes more Tq and sooner than a supercharger. That is why they run faster times. Add nitrous to the supercharger and it evens the playing feild.

Torque shouldn't be a huge issue in drag racing though. I just think that not as many people run their supercharged Z's at the 1/4 mile track. Here look at a vid I made, the rpm's never go below 5000 in a drag race type situation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSPxL...e=channel_page But yea a 400whp turbo is going to feel faster because the torque is often near the horsepower number while a supercharged Z of 400whp may only have 330wtq. or so.

Unless you go for the HKS unit which seems to be doing pretty damn good as far as supercharger torque goes. Tickle it with a bit of nitrous, and your beyond turbo territory.

to the op, search, btw I have more torque than hp with GTM HKS SC setup.

Rev, I just got the CAMP2 setup btw, still waiting on the fuel pressure sensor and oil temp/pressure sensors, but the rest are connected, along with the AFK. A great setup, but the oem screen doesn't provide the greatest display for the camp2.

-Superchargers are driven by belt off of the crank pulley, so there will always be some parasitic lost when SC. Turbos are driven by exhaust gasses, so no parasitic loss, but more heat in engine bay.

-High torque numbers is really what bends rods and destroys stock blocks. Turbo power curves will amost always display more torque than HP. SC's typically have a more linear curve with more hp than trq.

hope that helps.
