HR Stock block max hp before blow??

The real question to ask is do you have the $ to fund a proper build should the original motor let go. If not, then that should be goal #1, before funding a forced induction purchase of any kind. When planning big power on a high compression, originally NA motor, expect the "if" to come sooner than you expect. Always pays to be prepared for the worst vs hoping for the best

But yeaaa.. I'm expecting a motor build, or a rebuild, or a buying and building down the road. I'll be prepared. I'm gettin a beater soon just for that reason. And where are these boosted hr's?? I nevvveerrr see any lol. Actually I'm lucky I see any modded HR's period. I dunno if maybe its the area I live in??

^ +1. And only on special occasions for me. I usualy keep the BC off for 380-400WHp.
Best of luck if you want to take one for the team and stay stock block on a daily driver at 500+WHp. I'm not saying that it can't be done or whether or not it is safe because there are way too many variables. If you don't boost from light to light, you may be OK.

A decent fuel system, managment system and a good tuner. Once again Tuning tuning tuning and tuning.
For the person who said staying in 5th and 6th for long periods of time will blow your motor, hey guess what Tuning.
For the ones who blew their motors making 400whp, please go check with your tuner. VQ motors are strong and to blow one up on low boost, you must be talented.

Yea your right.. I read up on your who situation. Thats crazy. Dedication tho. Hows everything coming along with yours?? But from your experience.. Do you think I'm better off building the motor?? Or is the 400-450rwhp at w.e psi be a safe thing and nothing to worry about??
The jump in performance from stock to 450whp is very noticable, I would make that leap first and then maybe get a cheap oil consumption block to start your build. That way your car is still on the road while you are building and then you can just make the swap down the road. Just my
.

I'm bumping this thread to add my own experience (in case people in the future search or google for stock HR limits). Experience leads to knowledge. Knowledge is power.
Currently I'm at 503whp , 407wtq. Around 3k miles.
I've seen a few HRs at 530ish whp and their owners were beating on them at that power. Three experienced shops have told me the limit as 540whp. Although I'm not sure if that includes tracking. Probably more of a street limit.
The thing with the HRs is the horsepower to torque trade off is better than the DE. Most people who are around 500whp will only be around 400wtq.
I'm going to assume with slightly stronger internals than the DE that the HRs are safe atleast up to 420wtq for street purposes.
