Finally, my Vortech setup is done - 400whp!
Woah, what a bumpy trip this has been, but it's finally over!
After a bunch of installation problems, and once we figured these out, yet another new issue, that wouldn't allow me to run proper boost, we're finally done.
I had the car tuned yesterday. When I got there, and after going through all this, I was thinking I'd be happy with anything over 350whp. One hour later, I had the dyno sheet in my hands and I couldn't believe it!
The car drives amazingly. It feels exactly as described on this forum, like having a much higher displacement engine. The only thing that reminds you that it's FI'd is the surge of power you get above 5,000 RPM and the chilling WOOOSH you get from the BPV when you shift.
The driveability is like stock, I'm not kidding. Well, maybe even better so. On the way home yesterday, I was riding a hill in a country road. I was on 4th, even 5th sometimes, and didn't even need to shift down.
The sound, even at half throttle, is awesome. I drove a million miles yesterday, because I just couldn't get out of the car.
A huge thanks goes out to you guys, for trying to help me with the setup problems. I'd have lost all hope if it wasn't for all the talks of advice I got the last few weeks.
Also, many thanks to Jamie at Vortech, for the great communication and his willing to help me out any way he could.

Thanks guys! I just got home from a short trip, trying to make the most of the new setup. It really was amazing, I can't get enough of the new found power (it's like having a 5lt engine in there!) and the awesome sound of the BPV!
Thanks! Well there aren't many Z's around to begin with. Only seen about 4-5 of them in the street in the last few months. Most of them are stockish, but there is a TT one that makes about 400whp and also a monster 700whp TT.
I have a couple of vids on the dyno, but it's all from my cell phone and the quality would be laughed at if I posted them. Only shot them for personal use and memories!
Thanks a lot Adam. You're one of the finest vendors around, but everyone knows this by now, so you don't need my advertisement! I realise you tried your best to mediate between me and Vortech to get my issues solved and I appreciate it.
Yea, it seems like it doesn't let off until the rev limiter, by the looks of the graph.
Vortechs build boost relative to your RPMs, so it keeps building steadily and linearly as the revs go up. See attached graph, red inclining line is boost/RPM
First of all Chef, thanks for chiming into my other threads trying to help with the installation issues.
I don't have any engine mods worth mentioning, other than an Apexi N1 exhaust (which makes a chilling howl at WOT!). I also used a Haltech Platinum ECU to drive the Vortech, along with 600cc DW injectors and a Walbro pump. Also, a set of AEM gauges, which are probably gonna get replaced by a Haltech IQ3 Dash display soon.
Other than that, I have a set of KW variant 3 coilovers and 19" wheels wrapped in 245/35-275/35 Dunlop Sport Maxx's.
Next in line are a set of 6pot/362mm AP Racing BBK to go with my rear Brembos and probably a Nismo v2 style bodykit.
FI really transformed the car, no doubt. But I'm still very careful trying to learn the new tricks of the beast, especially in the wet.
niceee!!!! thats funny I was born in athens =). Anyways.. how bout some vids??
good stuff Alex - enjoy it
Damn, peak torque at 6k+ RPM? That thing just continues to pull harder and harder all the way to redline. Nice!
PS does your boost creep up as the rpm's increase? Just curious.

Sweet man. Could you post your mods?

Another reason I can't wait to go FI. Congrats bro remember the Spiderman quote "with great power comes great responsibility!"
