Default Modding Before Twin Turbo...

I want to twin turbo the Z next summer. PE or Greddy, I dunno yet... But I want to put a certain percentage of the money I make aside for the turbo, and use the rest to continue to mod the 350 throughout the winter...
I've never dealt with any kind of forced induction before besides nitrous. From what I understand certain mods will interfere with the turbo (i.e., Injen Exhaust - too much backpressure).

So I need to get a shopping list together... What is cool to bolt up before the turbo? Any reccomended exhausts? How about the intake Plenum? Puleys? Camshafts? Piston kit?

Someone help me organize this... I'm sure there are other people on the boards that want are wondering the same thing for themselves.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Default Some ideas..

I am going the TT route myself..and have spent the better part of the 8 months I have had the vehicle "building it" from the ground up.

SO.
Big Brake Kit, Sway Bars, Tein Coilovers(w EDFC), Limited Slip....
were the first step..

Clutch/Flywheel is something to think about too.

You may want to consider a cat back exhaust upgrade at this time as well ( I have chosen to wait).

If your as addicted as me..you can have some motor work done =)
(Pisitons/rods/ etc etc...)

ALSO.VERY IMPORTANT. IT IS VITAL THAT YOU PUT AS MANY STICKERS AS POSSIBLE ON YOUR CAR. This will no doubt help with performance when you do finally get your turbos =)

for boost friendly perhaps beefing up your existing stuff would be adequate--

1. Clutch (if MT)
2. plan on purchasing Boost, Fuel Pressure, Oil Temp, EGT, or any combination of those gauges, this will help in tuning.
3. Oil Cooler (and Tranny cooler if you are auto) will help in longevity of your car
4. Exhaust ~2.75" or 3" should be more than adequate-- moh PICK UP! Mo POWAH!
5. better brake pads (either EBC/Porterfields, or if want. big brake upgrade) - Smart thing to do.. for every $1.00 for Power, $0.25 to stop.
6. a piggybank to hold every and any change you find to help fund your project, cuz shiet happens.

LETS TALK ABOUT CAMS!!!!!

ok lets go ..... turbo vs cams .......... exactly how agresive are out cams???? im guessing there not all that aggresive being that our power drops off after 6000 and change......................so, whats up with the new cams weve got out for our Z's......... are these cams toooo aggresive for FI????.............. it would be hot to be able to have a nice mild cam for our car, that while not being too aggresive, would still allow us to make power on boost, say up around 7200-7500...... giving us loads of fun spooling time?????? so anyone have any ideas on this???????

Definatlly not air intake, what a waste. Might as well get some headers too. Also, a lot of the things you mentioned will probablly come with whichever kit he gets, so whats the point in buying a replacement now? The part he buys might not even be as good as the part that comes with the kit.
