This man is speaking the truth!
Seriously, I replaced the original Vortech belt with a Gates, one step shorter, and I haven't heard a squeal ever again since then! Also, belt dust is MUCH less in my engine bay.
As a comparison with the original belt, I've got half as much dust in the 1000 miles I've done with the Gates belt as I had with the original belt in the 50 miles I did between installation and tuning it.

So here are the pics....
So the sand blasting went really well. My friends dad did it and we started with Walnut chips at first but ended up using aluminum oxide. The pulley has a nice rough feel to it and I'm sure it will grip really well! I'm going to do my power steering pulley next to hopefully get rid of my belt squeal.

stay with the stock 32/28 cog setup, install the 2.87 serp " sand blast the ribs on the 2.87 pulley " install the timrod pulley kit and you will yield the best results. prepare yourself though! you will be making alot more boost. i was hitting 14 psi at 6600 rpm with the sc-trim. my boost comes in a little quicker with the Si-trim but max boost is about the same. i am also at 2100 ft above sea level so you may see a little more boost pressure.
I want to run the timrod setup (#2 picture). From the looks of it, the new belt setup I think would work best for me being that I already have the GTM mod. I'm still getting that chirp at my power steering pulley. I sure this new setup will solve that.
As far as the pulley kit goes, isn't it just a matter of rerouting the belts? Or is there something that I am missing?
Also, can I run my stock vortech belt or do I need a different size?
