I browsed the So Cal forum, but not sure if I saw what you're referring to. Please post a link. I'm due for a meet.

Post The End

Hello everyone.

Well, as much as I hate to say it, I have made the decision to end the Sport Z Magazine Supercharger Challenge.

I have tried very hard over the past several months to get the word out about the SC Challenge and drum up support for it by doing everything from placing flyers on cars to telling just about everyone I meet about it. Unfortunately there were some obstacles in the beginning of the challenge that cast it into a negative light which it obviously was not able to recover fully from.

I wish that I had succeeded in winning the challenge, not only because I personally would have gotten something out of it, but because Sport Z Magazine would have increased in size to include more coverage of 350Z’s. Perhaps it still may?

I want to thank everyone for the support they showed me by subscribing to increase my chances of success. I would also like to thank Bob and the rest of the staff at Sport Z Magazine for making the SC Challenge possible in the first place and for giving me the opportunity to participate in it and show ‘em what I am made of.

Sincerely,
Chrismcagle

Sorry the "Challenge" didn't work out like you expected Chris.

But I have to ask, what obstacles are you referring to?

Mostly negativity and disbelief. A lot of people thought that either it was some type of scam, or a marketing ploy on the part of Sport Z Magazine to gain subscriptions. I even received several PM's asking if I was really an employee of the magazine (which I of course, am not). I have no negative feelings toward anyone though.

So I've heard! Hopefully I'll get my new issue tomorrow so I can see for myself what a lot of my friends have been telling me.

It would appear that I am not very popular with some people.

Hey Chris -- Boy you sure know how to tick off a few people, but you're number 1 with us here at Sport Z. Thanks for being who you are and thanks for letting us have a little fun (at your expense) within the pages of Letters to the Publisher.

BTW, how's the "stuff" working?

I'll be gone for 2 weeks Chris, please let me know what you think of the spring issue after your first read.

Now, now. It's not nice keeping secrets! If you can't share with the rest of the class you shouldn't be saying it!

Bob, I hope Chris gets his supercharger. Frankly, I don't think he'll get enough subscriptions to cover the cost and won't get the SC. Regardless, the magazine will have more subscriptions than they would have before this idea.
Well, I didn't think it would only take six months before it came to pass. Re-reading the first two pages makes me think that the whole thing could have been handled better.

I'm really not surprised but, I am sorry it didn't work out for you Chris.

Well, although the Supercharger Challenge was not a complete success, I did win in a way. Bob and the rest of the staff at Sport Z Magazine gave me a set of UR Pulleys as their way of saying "Thanks" for the effort I put forth in the challenge.

I received my Spring issue of Sport Z Magazine today and all I can say is WoW! I sure did take a verbal beating in the "Letters to the Publisher" section. I can't believe that one reader, "Art" actually "threw the magazine across the room in disgust!" That can't be good. I definitely didn't mean to **** anyone off by what I said, but looks like I did.
