I got the look of death from the wife when we went out to eat on Monday and my 7yr old is shouting from the booster seat "look at this idiot, the left lane is for passing, pass him on the right Dad". Needless to say the wife was not amused. I just looked at her and said "I have no idea where he got that from".
Hi Terry sorry for the OT.

Anyway, I have been working with Sam on some R&D issues and the block is now back at Japtrix. I'll be speaking with Roger at the end of this week or maybe next week on nailing down a schedule for getting everything back together. Hopefully I'll be up and running by year end, but need to confirm that schedule with Roger.

The motor is completely assembled. GTM provided the short block and Japtrix did the rest of the assembly. I spoke with Japtrix yesterday about tapping the intake runners for the meth injectors and other things. Nothing is happening quickly, but this definitely appears to be the biggest project Japtrix has handled from what I gather. Things are not moving very quickly, but I have high confidence that everything is being done properly and meticulously, though not at a quick pace. I hope to make Z days this year. We will see.

I have a spreadsheet that calculates fuel flow and injection solution requirements based on desired whp, rpm etc. If you would like a copy, PM me your e-mail address.
The rule of thumb is that the injection solution (meth/H2O) should not exceed about 20% of the fuel flow. For 620 whp at 7000 rpm on a 3.5L motor, I calculate that each injector should flow about 100 cc/min.
If you are running straight meth, or maybe a 70%meth/water ratio, you could probably exceed the 20% ratio, though it probably would not be needed.

Glad to hear you are doing direct port Terry it makes a world of difference, and to be honest you don't need to add any methanol just the distilled water alone will be more than enough.
Really eager to see your results with the closed deck, I really think that is going to be the best way to go for big power and longevity.

That's a good sign! I would recommend when you get the car back to take your time breaking it in, then increase the power levels slowly. I.E. keep it at 500rwhp for a while to get the kinks out, enjoy it, then slowly go up from there.
Does anyone know how much power that other closed deck VQ35 was making from S&R?

Still waiting for Japtrix to finish. Motor is in and has been started.
They have had the motor since September of last year, and still are not done with the project. I'm at my wits end over this. I keep getting promised dates, and then those dates pass with the car still not done.
I understand that I am requesting a lot of customization, etc., and much of this is outside what they normally do, but still, over a year? I keep getting bumped for smaller projects they can turn around quicker.
I don't want to start an entire could of, would of, should of on this. It is what it is, and hopefully I will finally have the car back by year end. We'll see.
