You want a gear pump, brass or bronze gears are prefered.

I forgot about ol Ernie's thread. But the pump doesnt use anything wax. Anything will fail if you beat on it enough to pop the motor.

was honestly looking for answers not generic blanket statements. I understand why gears would be better though.

^^Basically, I would stay away from anything other than viton seals and bronze/brass gears.
