In all honesty, I would buy the new Kinetix SSV just to reduce weight and heat in the engine bay as long as it doesn't hurt the performance. But, that's just me.

does that SSV thing lose weight? I'd be surprised... the stock plenum is aluminum I think.

It's 10lbs lighter than the stock plenum, probably because it is overall quite a bit smaller than the stock plenum.

After driving around some more today, the Kinetix is definitely making a difference. I am noticing a lot more power when I am in high gear at low rpms. Where I used to down shift to pass someone, today I just kept it in 4th and it pulled really nicely (note, a significant difference). And I am loving the sound, no radio for me, just windows down, and that alluring engine soundtrack.

Thanks to the OP for sharing a dyno! Kudos.

This design is definitely better than their original (which isn't saying much). We need real back-to-back dynos, a sub-$400 price tag for something that is welded together and not cast, and a different manufacturer to eliminate the notoriety (shame!) of bearing a Kinetix product. Someone should copy this and make a lower cost piece for those that want to see a flatter torque curve above 6000 rpms. It'd sell well I think for $400, especially if it doesn't have "Kinetix" etched onto it.

I totally agree with everything you said. I figured I would take one for the team on this and be the guinea pig. For the $$, I don't think I would recommend it for everyone. If it was around the $400 price range and from a company that didn't make everyone gag when their name was mentioned, it would be a true winner.

Definitely one of the biggest reasons I miss my old Kinetix plenum, when you hit high RPM it sounds like a metallic growling. Music to the ears, I assume it's because the stainless steel let it reverberate a bit and because it is a more "open" design then the stock or Cosworth.

I feel the same way. Actually there was one Japanese brand that came out with very similar plenum, but I think they stopped making it. I tried very hard to find it, but no luck...
