Default Have a water/meth kit? Come in here...

Ok, the time has come to install a water/meth kit in my car. I'm going to use my factory washer fluid res. and want a progressive system with a way to monitor flow (since I'm still running the UTEC for the rest of this season and can't control it through there).

Anyone have a setup like that and any advice on which brand is the best quality and user friendliness? I'm planning on installing and tuning this myself as I've done with the rest of my car.

I think Joe K (MADScientist) has a pretty killer AlkyControl setup if I remember correctly. He might have some insight for you.

I had an aquamist system in my old Z, but couldn't tell you exactly which model it was. No complaints with it tho, and it was actuated by a boost pressure module, I believe.

I also used the washer reservoir.

There are a few threads on this, which I'm sure you've read. I like the Aquamist stuff personally.

the new coolingmist controller is very nice. use that with their flow sensor and you'll be all set.

Thats what I am going to use if I ever stop using my UTEC to control my meth solenoid. But for right not, the UTEC works just fine and I am not missing progressive spraying.

The UTEC has an input to control a meth solenoid? What parameters does it use to determine when to activate?

it has a negative trigger just like the haltech and fcon. it uses like 6 params to turn it on. rpm, boost, coolant temp. tps, etc

Aquamist HSF-5, very safe system but a true PITA for install. The HSF-6 is much more PNP from what I understand.

I personally use the Stage 3 Water/Meth kit from Snow Performance...been using Snow for the last 2 years with zero issues!!!

I'd be happy to help you get a good price with their kit!

...Thats what I use also....Plus they came out with a new head unit. Aquamist HSF-5 & 6 is a great unit also.

The "Mad Scientist" uses the AlkyControl system.....It was one of the first setups used in this community....and he is still using it....

So now you have 3 to pick from

I have the HSF-5 and I have seen the 6 and it looks 10x easier to install. Like Cass said its more of a plug and play and less wiring is involved.

You mean HFS-6? Google didn't like "aquamist HSF-6".

The HFS-6 looks pretty trick, but I don't know if something that automated is necessary, plus it's about twice as much as other progressive kits. I'm going to have to do a lot more research. LOTS of different options out there.

Here is a link to the drawing for my Coolingmist system. I'm changing over to direct port injection, so the meth will flow from the valves will flow into a distribution block, and then out to 6 injectors. Everything else is the roughly the same.

Many tuner likes/recommand Aquamist, but it is expensive.

I had snow kit, it is pretty good kit for that money. I had no issue with snow kit for 3~4 months.

I also run the Jkenefic spec Alkycontrol kit.

The kit is very nice, seems overbuilt but that is never a bad thing.

100+whp and 150+ft/lbs using 93 + meth over just pump gas.

I'll post pics of it if you want to see it.

Why are your running such a conservative pump gas map? Too much power for the street?
