Default Curiosity regarding 0-60 (FI guys help me out)

I've been just wondering how much faster a supercharger or turbocharger would make the Z. I would like some guys with different setups to say what they have and how fast their car is either in the 1/4 mile or better yet what they think they could go 0-60 in.

0-60mph means NOTHING

A 350whp Z could be faster than a 700whp Z 0-60mph

Do you drag race? What are your 60ft's right now?

The truth is most at 450+whp have issues with 1st gear traction. And most 600+whp cars on this site dont even have the camber adjusted to help them hook up, they dont mind spinning 1-3rd gear and they either dont run down the 1/4 or run crap times.

0-60 is a bench racers time, it is utterly useless in real life. For 1/4 times go to the drag forum and look at the top lists under every category. Then find a setup you like, find an online 0-60 calculator, pop in the 60ft and 1/4 trap and it will give you an estimate. But like I said not ideal in measuring performance, wayyyyy to many variables.

Now with all of that being said, this has come up before in another thread, and mine was 2.6 seconds on slicks at around 500whp. But I dont go around telling people that...

It depends, on the kit, gearing, traction, driver, how you measure, etc.

Anywhere from 2 to 7 seconds. /thread

Spinning through 3rd was fun for about a week......

after getting real traction and being able to use 1st (mildly), 2nd and 3rd the car became a whole new animal.....

Seriously, what fun is it when the car doesn't hookup till triple digit speeds.

And I'm no drag racer......just gonna have to have Chris@SP drive the wheels off cause I ain't no John Force....The car is fast, but I'm no fast driver from a dig lol

0-60 was a great barometer for a cars acceleration back in, say the 70's, but cars are so much better now, it really means nothing. Even if the Z could lay down a 3-second 0-60 time, I'd bet everything I own you couldn't match it, so you're just bragging about something your car can theoretically do then. 60-120 is a much better metric for a boosted Z's acceleration.

With street tires and a stock block setup would you prolly run low 4's Here is my 330whp setup and its running about 4.5 according to this video. The guys are right on here because once you surpass about 350whp there are too many variables that can drastically change a 0-60 time.

Letting somebody else post times in your car FTL!

Why not take the time and learn to handle what you've built?

Its not learn to handle.......

I have the born in fear of breaking drivetrain parts off the line....can't get my brain beyond it....Road course I am fine (I know makes no sense), just can't get passed destroying the drivetrain off the line for some reason. Its like a mental block (and man do I have a lot of mental blocks lol)

I'd be more worried if someone else was driving my car.

None thankfully.....but I want to keep it that way ;-) lol
more worried about wheel hop than anything....even with these DR's (only 35 series so will still hop).....

Broken drivetrain parts in other cars, just a hard thing to get passed for me....To me nothin worse than leaving the track on a trailer when you drove the car there.

Thanks! I wish I had a vid of my current 414whp set up as that's my 330whp setup in the vid but of course there would prolly just be more wheel spin and maybe a slightly faster time.
