Default Intercooler sprayer

Just wondering if anyone has ever used the NX intercooler sprayer? Was it worth it?

9/10 cars Ive seen with it have it for show. Running N20 in it can lean you out some as it finds its way into the motor. CO2 Ive always read works well to chill the IC but not many people actually use these things other than to show off in their gay sauce car shows, let $luts sit on their cars and let losers judge their cars

It will cool down temps if you are wanting to run the 1/4 at the track, might cut a 1/10-2/10s but the cost is the same as meth injection so your money would be better spent on that. You could add that on top of meth too though if money isn't an issue. Go with the CO2 though like Alberto said.

I would also think any track (road or drag) would almost immediately ban you for spraying any liquid while on the track (even if it supposed to be mainly atomized).......

thats what I want, water being sprayed before my drive wheels come by lol.

Before the NX system was available, we sprayed compressed CO2 onto the FMIC of an SR20DET Datsun 510. It did lean out, but it also made 50 more rwhp on back-to-back dynos because of the cooler intake charge.

Rob's 510: http://www.modified.com/features/040...510/index.html

his matching RB 240Z: http://www.turbomagazine.com/feature...40z/index.html

personally I think its too unpredictable. Just save your money. More parts = more opportunity for failure. Just get a good tune, if you are looking to squeeze every bit of HP out of your setup that you can just look at maxing out what you have then upgrade later to a better setup without an IC sprayer.

People out by us use them, but mainly to show off the bottle, few for any performance. One dude destroyed a whole motor, probably not the only reason but a contributing factor as he leaned out right as he was spraying it and he got a nice big window in the side of his block.

If Nitrous is finding it's way into the motor, then remember also that it contaminated the oil, and if you don't change the oil after you spray then you'll have problems also.

Meth injection is a much safer and better route to take IMO.

I believe that is water or water/meth only, I could be wrong.

^its a water misting system. definitely no alcohol bc that corrodes aluminum intercoolers if allowed to sit.

easy to make with misting nozzles used for your lawn and a winshield washer pump. The volume of water you'd need to cool a big IC would be alot.

After some research, I decided I like the water/meth injection better. As one writeup suggested, It basically steam cleans your cobustion chamber also.
