Default Vortech ruining AC lines?

My ac stopped blowing cold the other day. So i had a buddy who hooked up the ac system checker and there was a leak. I have a vortech supercharger and the high pressure a/c line is close to the charger itself. There is either a crack or tear or hole that makes the freon leak. Could the vortech do this? Only thing down there is the oil line and i don't think that gets hot enough to put a hole on a metal ac line. Anyone else have this problem?

Also, the mechanic buddy told me it's impossible to get to the ac lines without removing the charger. Is this true or is there no way around it, I have to remove the charger? Thanks

Really it could happen? WTF how come it doesn't happen to anyone else. Also what did you mean by 90*+ ? Temps here in cali are being ridiculous it's around 90-100 these days during the day. My water temp is hitting 205-210 when it used to hit around 180-190. And I am driving with NO AC, it's driving me crazy.

Oh and no one answered but, could you still get to the ac lines without removing the charger? how did you weld it, jb weld or actual weld weld.

Luxury 4dr sedan G35, 2 other passengers, no A/C, 100 degrees and it's my daily driver. That is not fun either!

Happened to me too. The oil line got hot enough to melt a hole through the high pressure line. We tried to weld it and it made the pin size hole pencil size. We ended up cutting it and used a union coupler to fix it. I then wrapped the the line with a rubber hose. So far so good.

Does anyone get heat soak in their AC system? When it's really hot out and I'm going less than 15mph for an extended time or sitting in traffic it starts cycling warm/cold/warm/cold until I'm moving again then it gets REALLY cold again once I'm moving again.

Okay so my leak is coming from under the charger. The main questions now are

can it be accessed without removing the charger?

can the hole be welded shut?

someone mentioned cutting it off and using another pipe source?

someone also mentioned they tried welding it and made a pin hole into a pencil sized hole?

I think you can take it outwithout taking the charger out. remove the intake piping and there should be a 14mm nut holding the line onto the compressor. remove the windshild wipers and the cover and you gona need a/c line removers to get it off. I had to take one off of a guy that had a procharger and that was a PITA. Had to remove the whole turbo and all the piping to get to it.

As for the welding you have to use an aluminum welder and if it burns a bigger hole then its too hot. might be leaking out the hose(can get that repaired at a local ac shop). n

I was lucky enough to not have to remove the charger, just the filter.
