Life Expentancy for FI Z's
How long has your Z lasted as a Daily Driver? What yeah/model/miles do you have and how much boost are you pushing? I'm contemplating a pre-modifed Z as a daily driver, but I dont want the car to blow up at 60k miles. Let me know.

read up sport. If ur not ready for unexpected probs that WILL arise then u need to stay NA. Even the best tuners on this board cant prepare u what COULD happen. Im not FI right now(Even though i have a APS ST n garage) bc i cant afford for sumthing to happen bc i lost my job. With great success comes great failure

What others are saying is that there is no way to know or predict. Some builds will be "higher risk" than others, depending on how much money was spent to obtain how much power. Even then, no guarantees. If you live next to a top rated performance shop (like all those lucky boys in northern GA
), then you can get the next best thing: a builder/tuner close by that stands behind their work.
Good luck.

The only reason there's no need for one specific thread is because there's no specific answer to give. There are just too many variables to take into account to make a firm decision on the life expectancy on a FI'd Z... You could read 100 different "I've been boosted on the stock block for 10 years and 300,000 miles with no problems" threads but the fact still remains that you could blow the stock bottom end up in a day, week, month, year.. Rule of thumb is if you don't have enough to rebuild the block then don't get it done. On the slim chance something does happen then you'll be up to your head in other debts you never thought about. Good luck but I'd stay away unless you have $$$$ to back up the boost...

WHAT?!?!?! I was nice to him
i just told him what needed to be said but it doesn't sound like he wanted to hear what we had to say. I think the only thing he would've been happy to hear was if you FI a Z/G the motor will last forever with no problems but we all know the truth behind that
PS to the OP: Sharif and the guys at Forged are some of the best in the FI Z/G world. if you're serious about FI talk with them and ask them questions. I'm sure they'll be happy to help you out.

You know back when I was coming up on my350z it was frowned apon if you posted in FI and didnt have atleast 500 if not a 1000 posts. Man you are brave with only 6 posts to post this question. But you really need to search. Lucky for you I am via blackberry right now so I can lock this but the lock is coming.
