Yeah well the 62 billets make over 100 more RWHP than a cast 61..... and Vito has 2 55s!! You do the math!!

^ exactly

the 6262s (62mm) are making the same power as the older 67mm cast PTE turbos on grand nationals.

Why cant a non-oil sump kit use PTE turbos. 5857s would be the ****!

Would you happen to have the JWT C8s (272 Dur/12 mm lift)? If so, and you want to sell them, let me know. (I have to check with Japtrix to see if my C8s have been ordered before committing, though).

Yes...

I don't know if you remember, but about 5 months ago I posted a thread asking everyone if I should stick with the C2s for my build, or bump up to bigger cams. The bigger cams won. Here is the thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...gger-cams.html

More seriously, here is the background on why I sold the C2s in order to upgrade to the C8s. This is from a PM I shared with another member of the forum a couple of weeks ago when he asked me my opinion of the cams:

"If my new motor was 3.5L, I would not have sold my C2's. The only reason I sold the C2's was because I really need more flow to fill the cylinders on the 4.0L motor.

Now, if I were starting all over again on a 3.5L motor, that is very, very tough. When I had the stock plenum with the Motordyne spacer, and before I got my last tune, I did not spin the wheels in 3rd gear [Edit: Toyo Proxes R888 305/30ZR19 tires, 2.5 deg camber). With that situation, I would use the C2s. I had incredible torque at 3800 rpm.

After I did the last round of upgrades with my last build, which included the Cosworth plenum, adding turbo blankets, and heat wrapping the downpipes, I got wheel spin in 3rd gear when the turbos spooled up. Thus, I could have used more valve overlap. More valve overlap would give a little less mid-rpm torque and more high rpm torque. So, I think for the state of my build at that time the C8s may have been good.

One hesitancy is that I have never tested the C8s, so I don't know how they idle. Worst case scenario, I can just bump the idle rpm on my car. That said, Coach on the forums says they do idle fine.

For my new build I am going with the C8s. But, because it is 4.0L, C9s are always in the back of my mind. However, I'm not sure I want to deal with the idle/parking lot driveability issues with the C9s since I beleive the C8s will get the HP I want to achieve.

If on the new build I get significant wheel spin in 3rd gear, I will probably regret going with the C8s [instead of the C9s]. If I only get a little wheel spin, or none at all, in 3rd gear, then I will know that the C8s are the right choice.

In other words, it comes down to getting the most HP you can use. In our builds, it's all pretty much useless in 1st and 2nd gear. But if we can use all of our torque from 3rd gear up, then we have a very nice combination."

PLEASE NOTE: These are MY reasons for MY cam selection. I am not interested in starting another depate over which cams are better based on who is using what cams.

If someone wants to present TECHNICAL information comparing different cams, that's fine. Well, that actually would be much better than fine and GREATLY appreciated.

I just sold the C2's a few weeks ago. I told Japtrix I'm going to need the C8s, but there was no rush until the new motor ships. I'm hoping it will ship soon. I spoke with Sam on Wednesday, and he said it was getting close.

Hopefully XKR will post a video of his car soon. He's also running the C8 cams, so we'll get to see how they idle. As I noted, Coach says they idle fine. They are right at 272. The C9s are at 284 deg. The GTM Stage 3's are at 288 deg. I have been told that even the GTM Stage 3's idle fine, but I have never personally listened to a car that has them.

The JWT C8's have the same duration as the BC stage 3's, so the idle characteristics of the BC stage 3's might be similar, although if there is a difference between their respective cam lobe separation angles, that will have an effect. Assuming the same duration, the smaller the cam lobe separation angle is, the rougher it will idle because there is more valve overlap at TDC.

The cam lobe separation angle on the C8 cams is 117.5 deg. I don't know about the BC's. They don't indicate this on their website, but there is "114 deg." just sitting under the stage 3 cam part number. Perhaps that means that the cam lobe separation angle is 114 deg.? It's hard to tell.
