Have any FI'ers had any kind of throttle response issues?

My battery drains in about 1 week.

I keep it on one of those "smart" tenders that is supposed to turn on/off automatically but it always throws an error code and I come back to the car to find it dead.

Been thru 3 batteries in 3 years, every season I go to Wal Mart and exhange it for a new one.

I read once that if you have an aftermarket HU, they drain the battery, I pulled the radio fuse one time and left it 1 month and it was damn near dead.

I'll have to do an overnight 10amp charge and a trickle before this season

YES! Here!

I noticed my battery was draining really fast! (I don't drive it every day or even every week because of this cold weather however)

Didn't notice it before because I'd take it out once every few days in the warmer weather.

FI for about 23k miles now, also running UTEC and Just started having throttle response problems as well. I am also having an issue with my cars idle dropping too low (below 500rpm) when I shift into Nuetral from high rpm's. The idle doesnt seem to catch itself and has even stalled a time or two. The Idle is smooth and about 800-900 when sitting still.

For the throttle response problem, I notice it most when trying to rev match. The normal quick pat on the gas to get the revs up results in almost nothing until I apply atleast twice as much pressure as I would before this issue started.

Any ideas?

Any updates? I have had an ongoing throttle problem similar to many here for over 6 months now. There a days that the car feels very strong with great throttle response. Other days the throttle feels very laggy with inconsistent boost and these are the days I normally throw the p2135 code going into limp mode. I am running a STS turbo w/ utec and have replaced both TPS and pedal sensors. Like I mentioned, I can usually tell when the car is about to go into limp mode. The throttle will just feel very laggy and the idle will be erratic. I can go weeks without throwing the code. Some days the code will pop up 3-4 times in one day. The code will pop up during idle, under load, or right after starting the car. It seems very random and has taken the fun out of driving this car. I am beginning to think that it may be a problem with the utec. What is a good alternative that won't break the bank?

I'm having the same problem now and my car is a fully stock 2004 roadster. I had this problem a year ago took it to the dealer they reprogrammed my ecu and it stoped. Until now it has recently came back. I noticed that it only happens to me on really hot days.

I have seen the same thing over and over again, it is definately a utec issue. I took my charge pipe off the FMIC this past month, put a filter on, swapped out to stock injectors, and then disconnected my utec. Reset the ecu and the car drove like stock all over again. Re-connected everything and the issue was back.

After reading the voltage issue with the app sensor and 0-5 and 5-0 I thought maybe it has something to do with current or voltage of the battery, so I bought a new battery, and problem gone for about 6 months. Then it came back, so now I leave a tender on the car when i'm not driving it like Alberto mentioned and I haven't had the problem nearly 1/4 as much as I used to.

Going with pro-efi very soon because of this PITA issue.

I can confirm the issue seems to go away or minimize when you have a fresh battery. Since replacing the battery I don't think I had it come up once but I only drove it for about a month before switching to Osiris.

It seems to affect some cars more than others...some have it some don't. Maybe it depends on ECU generation or software version.

I tried swapping the UTEC in the beginning but there was zero change.

I just ordered a new accelerator pedal asembly. Should be here next week. I figured I'll give that a shot. If that doesn't help, I can only believe it has to be a UTEC issue.

Since I am not driving the car as much for the last few months, this is exactly what been happening to me as well....also running a utec.
I am on my second battery this year and the current one went flat twice now with terrible throttle response.

will do.

The hardest thing about this throttle/pedal/utec issue is that you can't predict when/if it's going to happen. It seems that it happens more in the hot days of summer, though. I'll probably install it in the next couple of weeks, and then we'll see what happens.

Been busy with other stuff. Plus, I've basically forgotten about my car since I haven't driven it in so many months (I'm living in FL temporarily and the car is back at my home in SC).
