No more forced induction for me....

Well i do not harbour ill will toward gtm as sam may think, I just wanted to let the community know what happened and how i felt. Im happy the shop here got paid, I dont talk to them on a regular basis but I would say approx 6 months after they repaired the gtm work, they had not been paid, at least thats what the owner of the shop told me. As for the timeline I booked this with sam months in advance knowing when exactly I was driving down for a wedding. I dropped the car off the day I got there, leaving a full week of time to complete the job. I agree there was more work needed than I knew about, but Sam phoned me on my cell probably the second or third day he had the car and went over the extras with me. He told me these were optional things to fix, and gave me a price. I asked him at that time if I did proceed to fix the oil return line and powersteering line if he would have it done for me when promised, to which he replied "no problem". When the time came to check out of the hotel and go home I phoned him, told him I was on my way to pick up the car, at which time he told me he had to have one more day on the car as the tech that was working on the car broke his ankle, or something to that effect. As i had no choice, i booked one more night at the hotel and sucked it up.
I dont know how long it took to do the work I needed, and I dont know if my car sat at GTM for days before they started, but Sam was running out of time as he stated and was just finishing up tuning it on the dyno when I got there the morning of the extra day he asked for.
Again this isnt a bash on GTM just an unfortunate experience and series of events that could have turned out better for both parties.
Thanks all.

rude and quick have followed the same threads as me and have seen first hand what i speak of........that's why there posting here.i didn't pm or ask for input, they saw funny business and spoke up.
and should be commended for extending themselves.
btwy i have had far more positive things to say about sharif then negative,i just refuse to give a blank check because i liked the good.intense has recieved the least of my attention because they produce what they claim and make few mistakes.(that doesn't make me their machinist)

Yeah, you guys all pat each others backs. That's pretty cozy and convenient. I have no problem with that. And it's great that you don't give people free rides (i.e. benefit of the doubt). That's fine but don't expect one yourself either. The only funny business I see is you, Eric, and Jorge slamming GTM when the OP of this thread has stated himself that he has moved on and harbors no ill will towards GTM. Just let it go.

Thanks for the kind words.
One thing I have learned the hard and expensive way is:
If you want a stupid fast car, just buy one that way.
That said I have already done the midpipe on my gtr and am contemplating aam downpipes and a cobb accessport....hehehehe. (I need help).

you have been quite cozy and "convenient" with you friends too
and i did not slamm gtm like you claim on this thread...i mearly pointed at something that still look a bit inconsistant... see unlike your assumptions or whatever your friends txt message you, i have gone on evidence, and in this thread actual post by OP and GTM.
ITs taken care off either way, OP said he moved on...just cause i made a comment about something that "you didnt like" i am now a bullie slaming them right?
And btw, before you continue to paint me as having a grudge against forged too, see you should check with your buddies on this too...i think i have posted many praises in many of sharifs threads, i respect their growth, just not in such a nuthugging way like you(you are buthurt cause i called a build simple )....and btw i am actually a customer of them too...now you, went off on proefi, you went off and questioned powerlab on release... and i am the biased bullie? look at yourself in the mirror d00d

Jorge, I also noted the inconsistency, and I put it in bold for you.
Like go-fast, I call it like I see it. That man has at least expressed some principles and character, even if I feel he is misguided in his conclusions. Am I supporting GTM or speaking to an underlying principle? Read my posts again, about any topic, current or past. I always speak to a specific issue.
Have a good evening, "gentlemen".

As a friendly reminder to everyone, here is rule 10 of the Forum's Terms of Use:
10.) HARASSMENT/FLAMING
Any harassment of other members will not be tolerated. Name calling, picking fights, etc. Do not make posts that incite arguments, or any post that turns to arguments and flame wars, etc. Posts of this nature will not be tolerated and can result in the immediate closing or deletion or editing of the post and the banishment of the posting members account. Any insults or harassments towards staff members, including board ownership (that is, Internet Brands aka IB), will result in instant banishment.
There is absolutely no need for ANY personal attacks on ANYONE. A level of civility must be maintained.
Here is an example of ACCEPTABLE DECORUM:
I agree with XXX. Here's why, ........
I disagree with XXX. Here's why, .............
Here is an example of UNACCEPTABLE DECORUM:
XXX is just a nutswinger for XXX
You are a (some form of derogatory name or remark).
Look, there is no reason we cannot have useful and fruitful discussions without reverting to name calling and arguments.
Anytime I see name calling with intent that appears derogatory, I will delete those posts and issue warnings.

ok, i agree and thats fair.... i hope you consider when the RCDASH side throws simple jabs too, just like the one you delete in the same level of apparently a horrible derogatory term as well, and also take into consideration obvious derogatory sarcasm as well, cause otherwise all you just said is that you can be nasty as long as you sugar coat a post with sarcasm(i hope thats not all it takes).
Just saying, i am looking forward to your objectivity and unbiased moderation.
I ve known of TOU10 for years know, and i know its highly subjective to different interpretations..

Let's all just get along. We don't have to all agree with one another, and presenting different perspectives is great. That is what debates are for.
The issue becomes when the discussion moves from being a debate into an outright argument that includes personal attacks and name calling. That accomplishes nothing other than stir more animosity in the forum, which not only is against the forum rules, is counterproductive to the entire discussion process.
People should present their opinion. If you see something incorrect about someone else's opinion, or a flaw in their argument, point it out. In other words, point out the flaws in the statements/arguments rather than attacking people personally. And if someone disagrees with your statement/argument, let them point it out without fear that a personal attack is about to be unleashed on them. Believe it or not, the point you are trying to make will have much greater impact this way.

The ONLY posts I have deleted were posts in which one forum member called another forum member a derogatory term. This is a clear violation of Rule 10, as I indicated. If this has happened elsewhere in FI, OT or the Marketplace since I started as Mod (Nov. 1), and I missed it, please point it out to me and I will address it.
It should not difficult for anyone to get their point accross without violating the rules of this forum. If an argument relies on a personal attack on someone else, then that argument should be re-thought and re-formulated so that it can be presented in a civil manner.
Here is a simple way of remembering this. When someone is writing a post directed at another forum member, they should phrase the post in the same manner they would want that post phrased if it were being directed at them. It's not difficult.

OH the tags are great....sounds like someone followed rcdash's "humorous" conspiracy theories.
MODS(other than terry), i apologize 1st of all for continuing on this issue. The tags sounds more like harassment to me, to begin with they have no relation to the topic...same as him harassing me into getting in to a fight with forged, you know i have already made it clear in the past with my posts of my support for their work, and also as a customer of them. This is just one member instigating and playing the "innocent" game, and fabricating ideas. Painting his spin side of inconveniences, while ignoring facts. Yet i am suppose to "get along" ,keep playing his game and supporting rcdash's friends?
INterpretations of TOU10 are always open to debate, and what Terry here is saying is just semantics game....SPIN DOCTOR(i didnt see all the posts deleated but i remember that one, and its accurate 2 word description) is a derogatory term that could get someone banned???? THats even a lower than what some other members suffered here that were incorrectly and bias-ly banned for(like a good friend who called jt, ra then banned, only to be vindicated in the end.). We are not lil kids here, and any of us that has been here for a while knows that you have to grow a bit of thick skin on the Fi forum, heck we do it to n00bs and most that n00bs became regular afterwards know this.
i wanna congratulate terry for becoming a mod, but he should know better about conflict of interest. I know all you other mods are aware of this thread, probably discussed it in your section, and it would be a better idea if someone else stepped in here. This doesnt mean terry shouldnt be a moderator of FI section, he can moderate other threads, he also has some good technical info he provides that i appreciate, but him moderating the thread and him jsut following rcdah's spin basically is a conflic on interest.

These are good examples of opinions being presented without personal attacks and without name calling. You guys have a point of view and you are presenting it in a civil manner.
In a nut shell, if you disagree with a message or an action, debate the message or action without launching a personal attack on the messanger.
EDIT: We have gotten off topic. If you want to continue this discussion, however, please start a thread discussing rule 10 of the Terms of Use, or any other rules for that matter. Please post it in the appropriate section. If people even want to debate the merits of my selection as a Moderator in the FI section, that is fine with me, and imo provides a basis to post the discussion here in the FI forum. Just keep the posts clean, to the point, and keep derogatory comments out.

If ANYONE has an issue with ANY shop, please share your experiences. Please post facts in a precise, logical manner. If you desire, start a new thread. Regardless of how you choose to proceed, you deserve a chance to be heard. If anyone launches a personal attack in violation of Rule 10, I will delete those posts. You deserve to be heard without any form of personal attacks whatsoever. The shop deserves a chance to present a rebuttle. Then you can respond to their rebuttle. That is the only fair way to do it.
Once again, if there are any posts with personal attacks, I will delete them. But EVERYONE with a valid concern deserves to be heard. People should not fear posting their experiences and their opinions in this forum for fear of reprisal in the form of personal attacks.
