Default Turbo timer

I have an hks turbo timer type 1 and all of my acc. stay on while it is counting down. Does anyone elses do this? My friend has an accord and all of his turn off so I didn't know if it was something normal for our cars.

I don't think many people here actually run turbo timers on their cars since they are unneeded with synthetic oil or water cooled turbos or both. That said the 350Z's ECU also controls a lot of other systems in the car so it would make sense that the accessories stay on...

Yeah, newer stuff, with retained accessory power, everything is gonna stay on until the timer cuts out.

Still don't know get why so few run turbo timers. It is just another measure to be taken to prolong turbo life even with better bearings in turbos, synthetic oil and water cooled turbos. Seems like cheap insurance to me. The only thing I didn't like about them was you had to rely on your parking brake to hold the car in place and couldn't leave the car in gear. Always made me a little nervous especially when parking on a hill.

The less **** I have to wire into my car, the better. The only reason to ever run a turbo timer was to prevent oil coking. Synthetic oil by itself solves this issue. I don't see any benefit to having to leave my car out of gear while parked, wasting gas when it's completely unnecessary.

+1, plus the TT leaves the car on for usually one minute...Unless you are cooking your car all the way up to the point where you park, you don't have to worry about it.

Interesting. My viper has a turbo timer feature I use from time to time. I usually like to let the engine run until EGT is <1000 degrees F. It takes 1-2 minutes typically. So this is totally unnecessary?
