Default External Wastegates on the APS Twins

I bit the bullet and built my block. The new goal is at 600 or maxing out these snails, whichever comes first. What I'm wondering here is what I've gotta due to these internal wastegates for these boost levels...

Kisses, no homo.

You will need to upgrade the internal wategate actuators. Do a search for FORGE actuators. Not sure why you're asking about external gates in the title, unless you have the Extreme kit. If that were the case, then just upgrade to a heavier spring.

Did Forge fixed the problems with their wastegates about the diaphragm ripping?

I have been looking at these wastegates but I think the APS wastegates have a straight rod.

I won't find out until I pull my motor to find out unless you can take pictures of the bracket holding the wastegates and the rod coming out of the wastegates.

That I don't know. I haven't really kept up with the APS related stuff lately to be honest.

I PUT EXTERNAL IN THE TITLE BC I MISSPOKE AND IM AN IDIOT...

I have the regular APS kit. I also have pics of the actuators I can post. I've got the Garett BB's too unless they use the same actuators as the updated turds.

Thanks for the intel, Chris.

Scoped out they site. Can I just do a spring swap out or are these wastegates really necessary...?

Sorry, best pic I've got of it.

Need a better picture like that to show the rod

Also the APS wastegates are sealed you can't swap out springs

All you need to do is buy the actuators from forge motorsports tell them the amount of boost so they give you the right springs. You use the same rod off the present ones when you swap them out.

As far as the diaphragm ripping on the forge actuators. I've been running my Forge actuators for 3+ seasons now with zero issues.

As far as your goals go, in my experience with my APS kit, you'll need decent cams, an intake manifold and probably meth injection to crack 600rwhp with these tiny turbos. I'm @ ~540rwhp with a Cosworth IM + Meth and stock cams. I run out of breathing before I run out of boost. I'm going to throw in some cams this winter and try to crack 600 in the spring.

My Forge actuators don't have a diaphragm, they are pistons with a pair of sealing o-rings in the body of the actuator.

When you install them, you actually unthread the rod from the stock actuator and install them on the aftermarket units.
