ya, that vid is jacked. I was thinking on the first pull that it didn't look strapped down enough. I've never seen a car move that much on a dyno for 400ish hp then the second pull it showed explained to me why: some dumbass doesn't know how to tie a car down. That's ridiculous.

man it scared the **** out of me, I was in the passenger seat tuning. That's the only decent dyno around me that I know of without driving 4+ hours

that was right after they tuned our 260z.. i got 3 free pulls...

400ish? it was 461 hehe

400 or 461 makes no difference when you put the car through the shop wall

awesome project.. i'm at the start of a similar diy project and i must have watched your youtube built video like a 100 times for inspiration and motivation.. couldn't find you on the board though untill now (:

do you have a dyno print out? i'm curious about the turbolag of the greddy tt kit on a built low compression block.

this is an old dyno from a few years ago. tune was terrible so I left off the afr curve so it wouldn't scare people

Haven't updated in a while so here it goes.
Spent a little time on the dyno this weekend, mark and I cleaned up the map just a bit. Far from finished, going to street tune as i get time this week.
This was on a new load based eddy current dynojet
made 538whp/505wtq with 0 smoothing, put it on 5 here so it's easier to see.

the red curve is what it looked like when i let jotech tune the car
now i've got over 500wtq at 4500 rpm
feels a lot better.

The 300zx isn't finished tuning either, but we made 611whp/500wtq. all pumpgas of course on both.

i also dropped the car a couple months ago on an eibach prokit. nothing fancy but looks alot better for my broke @$$ with factory wheels

not good pics of the stance, sorry. thats my friends procharged 2010 camaro.

Here is the just the final run by itself as an attachment if anyone wants a closer look for whatever reason.

And the place I went, DriverSource, was worth the trip just seeing the cars. Things such as a ferrari f40, ferrari enzo, f430, bunch of old ferraris, mclaren f1, mclaren SLR, few v12 vanquishes, duesenbergs, maseratis, a gangsta Pierce Arrow with a gun compartment in the cabin, panteras, tons of RUF porshe's, MINT original 69 yenko camaro, it goes on and on. made my z feel like a pos haha.

do you have a boost to curve to accompany that dyno?

for some reason the guy didn't have a pressure sensor hooked up to it, so it's all in my haltech logs. IM assuming that's because they don't really use the dyno for tuning.. more "conditioning" the multi million dollar cars in the place

anyway, i noticed the small dip after peak torque is the wastegates cracking open, got some of it out by this run but i'll keep playing with it a bit on the street.

no bench racing here but it sure makes me feel better!
with std correction i made 552whp/518wtq. uncorrected 548/514.
pretty funny how much you can mess with the numbers.
Q:How much do i make to the wheels? A: idk 5 something.

i think i got it from bonehead performance, a seller on eBay. It was $240 shipped.

took a little massaging to fit right but I haven't had any problems with it and it cools much better.

had a good race lined up last night with a turbo mustang, and out of no where my clutch started slipping. it was out of no where, never slipped before, but wouldnt hold 6th gear with any throttle applied at all. wasnt so mad about not being able to race, but had a drag strip day planned for tomorrow. fml.

anyway just pulled it out to throw my old act back in. the jwt clutch was GONE. the friction plate got so hot that it warped, and the metal rivets were digging in to the friction plate. anyway i'll have it up and going in a couple of hours in time for the drag strip tomorrow morning. I'll post up some vids as well.

doesn't suprise me. I didn't think that JWT crap would have lasted this long at your power level. The act won't either. Get a southbend or a nice multidisk.

Lol the act doesn't hold at all. Waste of a trans pull...at least i can drive it. Looking hard at southbend, deciding between the full face or six puck, either will work holding 690 and 750 tq, respectively. Not a big fan of the twin disk in my z32.

Well since my clutch wouldn't hold (drove it to the track anyway) we took the 260 and the 300.
First pass ever with the 300, on low boost and easy driving just to check it all out, ran 11.96 @ 129.64. Bad 60 ft, slow shifts, just to see. Hit 100 mph in the eighth. Anyway heard a little valve train noise and decided to put it on the trailer and not risk it.

Decided to run the 260, also on low boost (pump gas) first pass didn't hook, ran 12.1 @ 120 spinning everywhere. Next run got up next to an r35. Heated the tires up good this time, 1.79 60ft, broke axle at the 1000ft and coasted but still ran 11.70@ 115.. and beat the gtr

Last thing we expected was to break a cv axle.. They are a $1000 set of wolf creek cv's that should handle wayyy more torque than we are throwing at them. All cars were on street tires.
Anyway, spent all yesterday changing my clutch for nothing and had 3 broken cars at the track today with 1 trailer. 2 hours from home. Just wish we would have gotten a couple high boost runs.. Would have been nice to see a 10

Ross
