Thanks everyone. I'll post more pictures when I can and as more projects get done. I realized the car was overheating at idle the other day, cut the ac on and saw the temp go down so i know my main fan is out.. there is a recall and extended warranty on it, but I've got to get nissan to just swap the part out for me because I'm NOT letting the stealership touch my car. Maybe they'll flash my airbag light for free while i'm there

Awesome thread Ross. I've seen your video on youtube before several times. There is nothing like the satisfaction you get from installing or doing something you enjoy so much yourself.

If you've tripped the airbag light (from disconnecting the sensor), you can reset it yourself. There are several threads on the topic. Found one here:

https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance...srs-light.html

I saw Sharif do this for my car while I watched so I know it's possible. Took him two tries using his wristwatch to keep time, but it worked.

Hope to see you at ZdayZ - maybe the airstrip?

I am doing what i can to get to ZdayZ, but no way the airstrip, that's my finals week :/
The airbag reset procedure won't work at all. It has worked in the past when i replaced my crash sensor, but it won't erase the driver airbag code bout to send the module to that guy on ebay that resets them. I really don't want to do that though.....

Definitely nice work Ross

Jealous about the surge tank

Now get some wider wheels so you can gain some traction
you can always find used R-Compund tires on the cheap from race teams
that have only used them for a warm up

Thanks, the surge tank really turned out well. I've been shopping for wheels but really don't have the money right now. I'm keeping my eye out for a set of rays g-games 99b... maybe a set will show up here in my price range

More pictures I found

Adding fittings to the surge tank

First color I painted it.. thought high temp exhaust paint would be more gasoline resistant. It wasnt.

Second paint, my favorite color of the three but still killed by gas. I replaced aam's cushion between the tank and the brackets with some 3M double sided tape. looks cleaner IMO

Had a leak on aam's weld. I may have nicked it with the grinder; i just laid a bead on top of it
-8AN check valve from JayRacing
works flawlessly, holds pressure now

mishimoto next to stock. she got me in the picture too lol
next mishimoto ad

my ambient temperature sensor has been showing some crazy numbers.. so i found it, which happened to be sandwiched between my intercooler and radiator. I moved it inside the factory lip (this picture was not final placement, it's where the red circle is). Works fine now.

my girl's rx-8. thought I'd throw that in there. future sr or ls swap

Hats off to you for doing all this stuff yourself. Great thread, and not too shabby of an E.T. either. Way to represent Louisiana

I'm pretty sure it was a 12 point socket, probably 10mm; its been a while, i try not to have to tear the bottom end down too often (like some people i know)

19. Remove main bearing cap bolts.
NOTE:
Use TORX socket (size E14).

took that straight out of the FSM. I recommend downloading a copy.

Well I haven't posted here in a while, so it's time for an update.
About a week ago my ac went out in the 300zx and the 350z.. the same day

somehow the ac compressor pulley touched the high pressure hose and cut a hole in it.. $75 for a salvage line and about $25 for refrigerant and stuff

I installed my haltech ait sensor.. does anyone have a good way to calibrate it? I tried water and air... got totally different readings. the water was a more stable temperature, but i trust the air values better so i dunno
wrapped my intake pipe. didn't do much imho. everything is still hot as hell.

had to throw in some pics of the z32

still working on the tig skills

Injected performance is tuning the z32 and z33 on sept 11th.. i cannot wait, it's driving me insane. It will be a 14 hour drive.. but well worth it I hope.

we're trailering the 300 just in case something happens to one on the dyno we can drive the other home.
I'm not too worried about my car, i've got 30K miles on the motor so far with only my street tune
