I've contacted Sam numerous times on this board and he always responds in a day or less. Not bad customer service if you ask me.

They were told that it had fitment and QC problems and were recommended the Greddy kit instead.
Since I spent almost a year as the F/I poster boy for shop drama I will refrain from posting on things that I have no knowledge of, but the above statement makes the most sense to me as a business owner. Forged has a model of build that works and they stick with it because it has yeilded solid results. If the largest east coast shop is frowning on the GTM kits, it serves no purpose for GTM to use them as a vendor and have them help spread the word to their large customer base that Greddy > GTM.

This is just my humble opinion. Sharif and Sam both seem like good people and smart businessmen.

Just from what has been said if Forged feels that the GTM kit does not fit well, have good quality control etc, and takes them 10x longer to complete due modifing pieces seems like a logical business move to no recommend something like that. From what I have seen and heard from GTM they pride the kit to fit so many configurations that you need to deal with all the other crappy aspects because we made it so modular. That might be great for them but to the end user they dont care if GTM has to stock different parts rather than making them unique and fit the correct application.

I also tho see why GTM would want to design a kit this way to keep overhead down and offer many options, I do have to say at what point does options vs quality when does quality take the upper hand.

That was exactly my point. Options are great and all, but sometimes they are not realistic for production.

For some to make the statement that Forged is recommending Greddy over GTM may be too absolute. For all we know, they were recommending Greddy kits to people who couldn't wait for GTM to clear up the quality issues with their kit. If I went to a shop looking for 500-600whp, I really wouldn't care if it was a Greddy or a GTM kit so I would pick which ever one gets it done quicker.

Sam asked me if I would unlock the thread, I said it would be better if you started your own.

^^ I was going to wait and see if any other vendor would chime in on that. Quamen said the greddy kit is much easier to install. Is that true?

That is good to know, now from a business side of things do you charge more to install a GTM kit then a Greddy because it is more labor intensive? If not would you be more incline to push the Greddy kit because it reduces the time it takes your tech to complete the job, thus maintaining your profit margin?

I would hope so.. if i was running a shop, I would definitely charge more to install a kit that takes more time.

My point is if you are going to be making the same abount of profit, due to extra labor, time, why would you not want the eaier route to same end goal.

Let me ask you all a question.... Because i have a GTM kit and Sharif has never spoken ill of it.

My question is....what's easier to install.. A Greddy kit or a SP/SFR kit??
After speaking to the MadScientist ... I learned that the SP kit is a great kit.... But it's not easy for everyone to install.

I know that FP had issues with the first kit which most products do have issues with first runs....

So I see the direction this thread is going in .... And it's not kool... I will agree that Greddy is one of the kis to pick for DIY.... But it does not make it better because it's easier to install..... If that was the case... What would we say about the other kits.?

Let me ask a question......if the GTM kit is so bad for fitment issues....why was Modme on MyG37 able to do this himself without any issues in his backyard. He is not a mechanic by trade, and he posted very detailed pictures of his install every step of the way. Look under the Forced Induction section if you want to see

We charge the same amount of time for either kit.

If I was a shop, I would def charge more for a GTM install and in the basic sense of the more cars you turn over, the more money you make, it makes sense to push the Greddy.

And if its true that FP was telling people to buy Greddy over GTM, thats solely their prerogative. Its a competitive market. I doubt that would be a reason to drop them as a reseller.

So, you have installed one of each?

thanks for the info

think if GTM can verify this as true, then all these threads can be closed, seems like a logical move for both shops to make. all these other issues the drama ****** like to bring up seem completely unrelated

Scooby's right. there is more going on then the selling of these kits. After talking and planning my build with Sharif everything he recommended was based on my goals and budget. If I wanted something against his recommendation he would still put it on. It's not like FP, or to my knowledge, any other vendors stocked these turbo kits or any brand. They are made to order so having another avenue to get a GTM kit would be beneficial for GTM. This goes deeper.

It's what happens when its the only info given to a group of people. The real info is out there and cool people such as yourself arent giving it up so people will only focus on the info at hand(even if its wrong)

Either fix the problem or go away. No one is impressed that you may know what really happened. Its a discussion forum, people are going to discuss teh issue. Accurate or not.
