Default BOV!

So i dont really like the WHISTLE/CHIRP noise that some bov makes.

so i wanted to go with the greddy type rs bov. but seems like there are alot of fluttering issues. dont want that!

so next best option seems to be the HKS ssqv. yes it whistles! but looks like if you take out the insert it will just make the WOOSH noise i am looking for.

my question here is.. if the insert is removed to eliminate the whistle noise, will the woosh noise be pretty quiet? or still pretty loud?

also any downside or problems removing the insert?

thanks!

I hate the HKS SSQ, and any BOV that whistles like a bird being raped.

I run a TXS RFL, no issues and I like the sound.

+1 for Tial.

HKS weld on flanges are just horrible. I have welded two now, and both were a night mare. Such poor quality casting.

Never had issues with Tial.

Mount it between the FMIC and TB. It is a good idea to stay before that MAF if you are using one. I know UpReve and Osiris have issues with turbulance if you put the BOV too close.

I am speaking from experience when I say that the HKS BOV flanges are crap. Very poor cast with air pockets, once welded the air expands and "pops" the weld out. These were genuin HKS parts, not some knock off crap.

I talked to a buddy about this, and he had the same issue with the one he welded.

So far I have tried three BOV's, SSQ, TurboXS RFL, and now Tial. so far the best is the TIAL. The ssq was complete disaster, got surging from hell with that thing, even took it apart cleaned it up, etc.. turbo still surged. RFL is crazy loud, i loved it and used it for 3 years. Now I upgraded to a 50mm Tial, and its very discreet, flows alot and no surge, you just hear a quick low "wosh". no high pitch singing girly sounds like the ssq

Was thinking about the tial but seems like it not right for my stock block boost.

Or so I have read. But I heard it's great for higher powered hp cars

Jeffie ur kit sounds awesome, just like mine

Im runnin the tial also and I love it although at WOT its hard to hear anythin than just crazy air suction and the exhaust note. Im running open dumps so it's prolly takin away from the swoosh sound the bov makes.
