Default ? about the oil feed line for a greddy turbo.

Hey yall while i did the install on my TT set up i now need to replace the pass side oil feed line for the turbo as it is leaking. It has been over 2 years since i put this kit on and i have forgotten how hard is it to to do with the turbo still mounted to the manifold.

Do i have to remove the turbo or can i still get at it with the removal of the coolant tube on the pass side.............i just cant remember(im old ok).I have a extra set of lines but i just cant remember this process.....i know it was a pita the first time.Looks like ill be buying some more cheap wrenches again.

Thanks for helping one of the old guys.

Wish I had an answer for you, my guess is with the right combo of cheap modded tools with tape, it can be done with everything in tact.

I'd give Frank a call and see if he can give you a pointer.

I have done this... its not fun but def doable. I took just the turbo out form the bottom, but some crappy wrenches up and made it work. There was no need to remove the manifold.

It's not going to happen without taking the turbo off the manifold

whats the cause of the leak??? 2 years doesnt sound bad, but what material is the end of the line? and what does the end of the line mount into? cast turbo housing??

seems to me it sounds like a dissimilar metal issue and heat......over time, rtv or teflon, whatever is called for during install may have burned out and failed??

may wanna look into more similar material fittings/lines.......

insight??

Its the braided steel lines that came with the kit but i also had Sharif send me his updated lines but still used the original Greddy lines.

The Greddy lines can be problematic with time and heat, as they are not compression fit. Put our lines on and you will never have this problem again.
