Does the engine actually rev between 500 and 1500 rpm, or are you saying that the tach is doing something different than the engine?

i mean to say that with the car in neutral the rev's can bounce between 500 rpm's and 1500 rpm's. i'm inclined to think it's the tune in haltech because it didn't happen when my unichip. it's really freaking weird though, because it doesn't to it *all* the time. i can be at one light and it idle is pretty good, steady at 900 rom's. the next light it will be at 900 rom's, blip to 1500 then dip down to 500 almost wanting to stall out, then will return back to 900. sometimes it will repeat that cycle more than once at a light.

secondly my afr's can vary just as wildly at idle and cruise, i.e. mid 10's to high 17's.

Will it do this while at a steady cruise? If your A/F is really varying that wildly, you would feel the car surging.

it bounces around at cruise too, and sometimes i do feel surging in lower gears like 1st/2nd.

lastly, and i remember seeing another thread around here where op had a similar problem...if i'm cruising at a constant speed and press the gas for a little acceleration, my car goes very lean just for a second and hesitates (like high 16's to 17 afr's) and then richens up to where it should be.

Like the others said, you need more acceleration enrichment.

thank you.

Sounds like the O2 control is out of whack and causing the AFR to oscillate.

let me see if i can help you here, hope your move went well.

assuming you have an after market wideband, if so have you wired it in to the haltech?

if so, is your voltage scaling correct. for ex. the AEM wideband would be from 10 to 20 in your wideband 02 under main setup.

then you want to put correct figures in your fuel target table.

this should help alot. and with your idle make sure your vacuum cells are somewhat even at idle and in your ignition map "c" in the same vacuum are as well.

make sure you adjust your correction maps for ATS and CTS

played around a bit, turning off 02 correction seemed to help but i haven't had a chance to do much with it. my setup is changing soon anyways, so i figured i'd hold off until all this other work is done.
