Nick , I can appreciate the delay to obtain a top quality result. But could you just post a pic or two of the "real" system. Not the CAD rendering. Thanx.

Also are you provideing an ECU re-flash or piggyback controller or both? I assume as long as the setup uses two aux injectors, a piggy back will be employed.

We are working on some ad copy with the only pictures available. As soon as the originals are returned to us we will post.

As far as the ECU, after a conversation with Nismo about the warranty for the ECU we jointly decided that it’s best to use a piggy back for all our FI systems. This way Nissan is still warranting their ECU and we warranty our added management system.

Since we are not conviced "AT THIS TIME" that these have enough R&D to satisfiy our requirements, I am going to withdraw from their program until such time the C.A.R.B. cert is in place and proper testing is done. We will however work with D/W if requested and THEY supply a test car as far as installation goes. And I can't speak for Greg at Mossy, but I would ASSUME they would agree with us at this point.

Default ECU and other questions

Nick thanx for the reply. A Piggyback is the method I wished to hear. A few more questions ,if you are so inclined to answer these.
a) Could you disclose "whose" piggyback unit you will be shipping?

b)Will the same unit augment fuel and timing, or two separate units?

c) will the stock injectors be retained with sole fuel augmentation via the dual aux injectors? This is my assumption.

d) will the factory fuel pump be retained, augmented or replaced?

e) will the Eaton M90 unit be "self or crankcase" lubricated?

More info the better.

Default Update

Spoke with Nick at Dream Workes today. He was very helpful and patient discussing my questions about their supercharger kit for our 350Zs. I want to stress that what we discussed is not a done deal, but interesting (at least to me) none the less. He said they are working on the deal to let customers run their stage 2 kit, at 7 psi, AND still retain the engine/drive train warranty (at Nissan dealers) like is done for their stage 1 kit. Some in this forum (including me) have expressed an interest in this concept. The hp at 7 psi was not finalized either, but the figure of approximately 440 crank hp or so was discussed. This could get to be serious giggles if this works out!!!! 7 psi is about as far as I want to push the stock internals anyway. The stage 2 kit is to be about $1000 more than their stage 1 kit. That power and the retention of the engine drive train warranty would be very impressive if the reliability proves to be all they say it is. He said they have run 7 psi on a dyno for several hours straight at 5300 RPMs, among other reliability testing flogging, and the reliability is rock solid. That’s a lot harder than I plan to push my Z.!

He did not think it was a problem with the warranty (or reliability) if I run Borla (or similar) headers and the Injen TD exhaust with their kit, but all those details have not been worked out. The stage 2 with 440 HP with these 2 mods should be at least a nice…round… 450 + crank HP, he he. A cold air intake is part of their kit, so that’s not an issue. He thought it might possibly be a problem with their kit plus high flow cats (you may need a certain amount of back pressure with their ‘charger for optimum function). That’s an issue (hi flow cats) that they have not tested, yet. The same with replacing the stock cams and heads. Might be a problem with how the air flow through the engine works with their kit, but not tested, yet. Interesting…

Nick/Goran,

Can you guys run the setup w/out cats? (Knowing this will void the warranty as a customer) But I would be interested in seeing how your kit will run w/out cats, as I fully intend to keep them off, without warranty of course. The setup of my engine exhaust wise would be Nismo headers, borla dual exhaust, and no cats. for all I've known, any form of FI really should get a measurable boost from such an open exhuast. Care to elaborate on your concerns with back pressure?

Would DW be willing to help w/ setting up solid a/f to run w/ the kit?

Will your fuel management be able to adjust with altitude say from 5800' to 0' asl? That range would be a continual leaning due to atmospheric pressure, can the system adjust the fuel delivery adequately enough to prevent from running lean?

Lastly, how about 8psi? Will there be an option for an 8psi pulley? I feel resonably enough to run 8psi daily driven seeing how Vortech has released their kit in full trim running stock 8psi. I believe the internals can handle that much power, and would be a guinnea pig if I had the chance as well.

Thanks for any insight you guys may be able to provide!

I interrupt this thread for the following...
My apologies to Nick and to the Nissan dealers I referred to. It was not my intent to put anyone in a compromising position.
Bad DSpec Sorry guys.

Default NOT DELL

Dell won't warranty a system over 6psi. I have a truck with the Magnusson Blower on it (5.3 Liter Radix System) and they use Dell too. I had a question about swapping out my pulley like the Lightning Guys do with their (Found on road daily) trucks and in the mean time asked about the max pulley I could put on my system. Anything over 6pounds is off limits. So, I'm kinda wondering where the warranty is really from...?

Also - why are they gonna charge another $1K for a 7lb. pulley? That's rich isn't it?? I'm not paying that for a pulley. Are they for real?
