Has anyone given DW their $3,000 deposit on the kit? I want to know if these guys can be trusted! They say C.A.R.B. pending and claim a lot of HP gains - but nobody has seen the kit yet. Somebody went to DW to look at it and they said it was at C.A.R.B. How is that if they are on the east coast and C.A.R.B. is in California? Why do they need C.A.R.B.?
Steve Belanger from Alpine developments said that they produce the blowers for DW and TRD. But the TRD blowers are all made by Magnuson - as in Jerry Magnuson - Supercharger KING (for all us muscle car guys) and sold to them by Magnuson. So, I called Alpine Developements and they said Steve Belanger "no longer works for us". Next thing you know, we're gonna find out that they don't have a warranty either - anyone know the number for Dell Financial???? We need to call them up.
Don't get me wrong - if they deliver, there will be a whole lot of happy members... Including ME. I wonder, though, if I should really give them my money or wait. So, I figure if I don't check up on this stuff and do give them a deposit - and they dissappear, then I'm the idiot for blindly trusting them. So, give money or not to give money....that is the question???

money up front
personally I'd wait to see if there really is going to be any beef in that bun. I too am considering them. Currently a toss between Vortech and DW for me. If they do what they say , i'll be impressed. But I certainly don't want to flush the money witout more concrete evidence.

ATI is the top selling SC on the market today. Vortech and Stillen just released their IC versions of their SC within the last month. Now you have 3 options and DW's is claiming to release their product around January. This is a great time to be owning a 350Z!
Within hours, SportZ will be at the track, testing the ATI, Vortech, and Stillen SC'ers. I hope this test results increases your knowledge on the subject and makes your decisions more informed.
My hope is SportZ continues to provide these shoot out comparsions. I loved the exhaust article and hope this SC article is as enjoyable for all of you to read.
Can you say TT comparsion? Yep, I knew yopu could! I hope we can get one of those going for the next issue following the SC issue. This is a lot of work but fun stuff!

DW
technically , assuming the DW setup actually appears, I am a little bummed they chose and Eaton M90 (old school) over an Autorotor Twin screw (new school). I've been putting suggestions into KenneBell about a Z kit (Twin Screw based) but no bite yet. They tend to stick with domestic platforms only. If any one else wants to bug KB, be my guest and email them .

For me this is like waiting for a baby to arrive!! Of course I'll post a ton of pictures.... since I'll be a distributor as well if they prove to work as claimed.

I apologize if this has already been discussed in this thread, but I was told by my Nissan dealer (car service supervisor) in the Detroit area that Nissan is going to be "backing" an after-market supercharger that would not void the factory warranty. The dealership did not have any specifics on the name of the company or type of supercharger. Has anyone else heard of this? If so, is the DW supercharger the likely candidate?
I'm sincerely interested in adding a supercharger, but have been freeked out lately about all the news of blown engines. I've thought about having the engine rebuilt to be more powerful and stronger so that it can withstand a higher psi supercharger. I'd like to see around 400 wrhp that is reliable and costs around 8-9 grand (reliable being the key word). Also, if you're from the Detroit area, are there any great engine builders in the area that could build my engine?
Thanks in advance,
SYG
