It might be time for a new clutch

That could be a possibility too. I'll throw on my WOTbox two step and probably make one more trip to the track in the next couple months on this clutch and hopefully it holds (seems to only slip on highway pulls). After that I'll be looking @ other options. Thanks!

yawn Alberto. Noone questioned Bri's drag skills so you can get off his dick.
I've gone 1.69 with a 3000rpm launch with my supercharger. So its nothing special.
Plus tire height has to do with trq multiplication not traction. He obviously doesn't have enough trq at his launch to keep from bogging (which is why he is sugggesting going to a 2-step)

The tire height is NOT the issue. I have plenty of torque to effectively use the gear ratio that the 28in tires provide. I just might need to be in boost to apply that torque quickly since I have a clutch that doesn't slip a little like my JWT did.

I dont have as much drag experience on my carbon clutch as Brian, but I understand his point about the clutches being finicky on the launch (certainly more than typical materials), as I have also experienced. Although on my 3rd launch ever on the triple I nailed a 1.67
Doable, but tougher no doubt.

My car was broken into over 1 month ago and is STILL not back to me.
Without knowing the longevity of the setup I DO have plans to attempt some legit times this fall. I acquired another track spare so I plan on putting skinnies on to eliminate the WOT wobble I have with the bias/radial setup. Its literally a set of skinnies away from a trip to the track.

The DXD Flywheel for the Z/G is a bit lighter than the stock unit, Solid billet steel and won't wear out like the stock DMF.
The other great thing is the trans won't rattle like a trash can full of marbles with it!

Like I said, I bogged the same with this clutch on my old 26in tires and those were the same tires that I was pulling 1.5s on with the JWT clutch/flywheel with a lot less torque.

actually......you don't have enough torque (on the motor alone)......that's the problem. Just revving and dumping or slipping a turbo car won't get it done as there is no load on the motor and it's not producing power before you launch. You are dependant upon your turbo(s) being spooled up to make lots of torque...and that isn't happening on a regular launch. With a 2-step, you you'll be able to get the turbo(s) spooled up and you'll be able to produce your full power/torque right away. So, before you give up on your clutch, install your WOTbox and give it another shot!
I'm giving up on this clutch because it slips on highway pulls, not because of it's on track performance.
Isn't that exactly what i was already saying (and what I plan on doing)? The JWT slipped a little on launch and allowed me to get into boost quicker, thus the fantastic launches. The twin carbon does not slip AT ALL on launch.

I think it's been in there for about 20-25K miles. I can't remember the exact mileage that I put it in.
These are not normal miles though. I don't daily drive my Z so when it's getting miles on it, it's getting beat on pretty good. It's been 4 seasons with this clutch with LOTS of trips to the drag strip.
I don't know what the deal with it is though. It doesn't slip like a worn out clutch would, so I don't think it's worn. I think I'm just ready for a change.

my 2 cents
stay away from os giken if you want streetable. It engages harsh as hell. Great holding force for power, but sucks in traffic and is hard to launch (for me, i can't slip it at all to make it smooth).
