Default Turbonetics question

I know that there are way better kits available. I have read a lot of threads that talk about how flawed the turbonetics kits are. I bought my car with the kit already installed on it. The kit currently has around 15,000 miles on it and my car is at 54,000. The only issue I am having is over boosting. My kit has the 8 lbs spring installed, since installing my new exhaust the turbo is pushing almost 10 lbs. Will a boost controller solve this issue for me? I have read some threads that mention an "over boost pipe", however, I am unsure what exactly that is. I get some white/blue smoke when I rev it to red line under full boost. I have read that it is common for our cars to do that. I have also read that the TN kit can have bad turbo seals, how do I judge weather it is the common VQ problem or the turbo seals going out? I currently do not have a catch can, but plan to install one soon, hopefully that will help. The car runs great other then it is a bit on the rich side. I currently have enough money for a built block, which I plan on having done next year. When I have the block built I plan to change out the turbo and run Haltech for EMS. I will be shooting for 550 at the back wheels. What other flaws with the TN kit are there and how should I go about fixing them? I do not have any AC issues. Thanks for any info.

best thing you can do is get rid of the kit. i got rid of my own kit even tho it was not giving me any problems. as far as the seals it can be the seals or you need a catch can. the overboosting issue will not be resolved unless you get the updated up pipe to the turbo. as far as making 550whp on the turbonetics its not going to happen.

550whp on what? a built, and stroked 4.2L with huge cams and meth/water on race gas mabye. 550whp on a vortech is very difficult. 550whp isnt easy with any kit.

I obviously, understand that it won't make 550 as is. In my original post I stated that I plan on having the block built. I'm curious what holds this kit back. Once I build the block I plan on upgrading the turbo. For EMS I think I will pick up a Haltech along with all the other supporting mods, such as CJM stage 1 fuel set up. Hopefully, after all that I can get it near 550. Is my only course of action to sell my kit and go with a completely different kit to hit 550 even with a different turbo? With a different turbo, I don't which turbo yet I'll talk to a few shops before I buy one, I would hope I could push a built block to 550. What is the biggest limiting factor of the TN kit? What are the other flaws of it?

Which pipe gets updated to solve the over boosting issue? Is it something I can buy or do I have to have it custom made? Thanks for any help.
