The difference between 450whp and 520whp???

The tires and camber are well set guys. I've got some sticky R888's and the rear camber is only -1.2.
I'm gonna get used to the 450 whp and then see if I
"need" more power early next year.
Any one have any idea on what the extra 70whp would gain me in the 1/4 ?? Forget about grip ect just in terms of trap speed?
Any one have any vids

If I can't floor it and powershift between the earlier gears then I am not utilizing the power than I already have so what is an extra 70 hp going to do for me? I don't do 60-160 mph pulls on the street therefore extra power in higher gears does nothing for me. I was pointing out to the OP that if he was looking for extra power in a dd then he would need it unless he is willing to deal with specialized tires on the road which will take away from the overall driveability of the vehicle.

the calcs say ~8 mph. 117 to 125 in a 3400 lb car

its pretty close cuz i trapped 117 at 460whp @3700 lb G35

We have a car here now that was making 525rwhp with the APS Premium BB kit(using the APS supplied actuators). Just installed a PMAS on it, JWT cams and springs, removed the Haltech and retuned with Osiris and made a peak 590rwhp and 616tq. This rendered second gear useless. The power was made at 15psi, have the tech look over the boost controller(those actuators should boost more).
The owner loves a gross display of HP so this fits his needs.

John the car is tuned with Osiris and is using a gizzmo boost controller. He most my tuner can get is 12psi or so. You made 590whp at only 15psi! That's a huge power fugue for not much boost!

I made 457whp 427TQ on stock block @ 8psi and now with built motor and forge actuators I'm making 518WHP but I'm also putting down 550TQ @ 13psi it made a world of difference and that is just break in tune with no meth. I can't wait until I break in the motor and turn up the boost and turn on the meth.
Alberto funny that we talking about alignment to put down the power.
In a few days I'm taking the car to get aligned and was thinking of running -1.0 camber on rear oppose to what I usually run which is closer to -2.0.
What specs is your alignment? or what would you recommend as a balance for putting down power on the street and still be able to handle turns with confidence?

Same redline and power curve? That doesnt seem normal, but I believe you.
OP asking us what you would gain in trap or drop in ET is worthless. For "comparison" or estimating tell us what you run now and with what power and weight....
Glex I run -1.1 rear, -1.5 front it handles well, but not as good as all four at -2. Still very capable though, I forget the rear toe.

Power was better up top but lost mid range which doesnt matter much for drag. Same motor setup just went from the aps extreme to the GTM stg 5. Redline was the same
this was also on a DD too

125mph traps are pretty poor for a 550whp z. such a car should be trapping 130mph on a clean run.
450whp z (assuming turbo and not some ******** centrifugal SC powerband here) should be trapping around 123-124 maybe 125. 520whp will have you trapping more like 128-129 assuming most other things stay equal such as your redline, powerband same just raised up, etc.
edit: the assessment above assumes you can drive.

LOL... well so far the point of this thread people think the extra 70whp is worth the cost/effort?
Guys me being from the UK drag racing and 1/4,trap speed etc really dont mean that much to me! lol. The stock nissan GT-R can run 11's and trap about 118-120mph in the 1/4. How would my car with only 450whp (about 480-490 flywheel bhp) and a 200kg lighter than the GT-R do in a roll race from say 40mph-140mph??
I know this is "internet racing" and all that **** but I have not got my car back yet and Im just exited to see what sort of performance the car will have at this lower than expected power level.

Again without you giving us a baseline we cant even begin to know if you can drive or not. Everyone thnks they can drive, even from a roll people feel the driver equation isnt huge, but I promise you it is, especially against a car that shifts like the GTR. Without any times from you, and with the bench racing mentality you have, Id put money on the GTR.

Mate,
If I were you, I'd try and aim for the 500whp target that you originally had. I'm not sure how much more money this will mean for you, but if it's not too much then definately do it... because I don't feel with all the money you've spent on that engine that it will be "worth it" otherwise.. Hell you'll have trouble shaking me off with only 450whp.. and I still have a stock block! Forged MUST be quicker then stock!
