I don't think it is even worth checking that is way to much blow by. Also you are sucking all that into your Vortech

Time for a new build.

Good luck!

^ swap out the PCV for 30 bucks, they are known to go bad NA, almost certain with the SC... unscrew it at the base of the PCV, just above the valve cover itself.

check out the passenger side (after you put a new PCV in it)

get the comp and leak down test done, at this point you cant really diagnose the engine from the outside looking in.

if that much oil is popping out of your breather it can be one of two things...

the most common due to abuse is the piston rings are wearing out thus allowing internal crank case oil by...hence the term blow by. But this could also be due to another know defect on all our VQs which is the valve cover gaskets.

the bad news about the valve cover is unlike most engines you have to buy the entire valve cover to get the part of the gasket that can have a leak, thuse giving the appearance of engine blow by (I guess its sort of like the same thing)

valve covers are like 280-300 each!
so.......

if you get a comp leak down test and everything is OK, then you more than likely have a bad valve cover. You are going to rule out the PCV valve because you already have that on order right?!

LOL

What are you talking about? Bad spark plug seals in the valve cover allow oil to seep into the spark plug tube. That has absolutely nothing to do with engine blowby.

I have helped like 5 people change valve covers due to massive amounts of oil getting dumped into the top side of the engine...plenum, spark plugs and everywhere where it shouldnt be...due to faulty valve covers.

you havent heard or seen it before?

It could give the appearance of engine blow by that he is seeing from the breather. Like I said, if he does the comp leak down then it will tell if a cylinder is bad, If the cylinder check out OK, like the 5 friends mentioned above, then the oil is getting into the top side of the motor through the bad valve cover..not just the spark plug areas!

disagree?

also if they have been removed and installed this could be bad seal and a good valve cover.

what is his issue then Mr. Expert?

also answer his question, dont ride my back man...lol

I said what I thought, what do you think?

Is there any smoke coming out of the exhaust, particularly blue smoke? Oil can only enter the combustion chamber around the rings or from worn valve seals, which is highly unlikely if you have relatively low mileage. That amount of blow-by steers me towards cracked ring lands. The compressions test will give you the answer.

^no smoke from the exhaust other than the regular (or an SC with rich AFR).

can do compression, but not leakdown test. the dealer doesn't seems to have the equipment (i asked last time).

installed a greddy catch can at the driver side.. i've noticed a wet area at the breather, but i don't think that was oil. still tho, smoke is a bit too much coming out from the breather.

i'll post pics of the install.
